My votes (using my personal scoring system - lower points is better):
#1 larrymcg - 27 points #2 Spleen - 33 points #3 Wade - 36 points I don't know that I was googoo all over Larry's draft like many people seemed to be in the thread. I did think he had some excellent choices, including some that I felt were the best of the category. Some of his picks, I was a little more "meh" about, but the thing that helped him get my top vote was that he did not really have any picks that I felt were completely out of left field. I didn't see a bunch of talk about Spleen's draft, but looking through it, I felt he had some of the best characters in many different areas. I felt his best 5 choices were as good as anyone else's best five. His main problem when I was scoring his team was that unlike Larry, he did have too many picks that made me just go "Huh?" #3 and #4 were really close for me, and I could have gone either way with it. I picked Wade, just barely over Danny in a close call. I would have to guess the main reason was that I just couldn't get behind Danny's pick of Mother Nature, and for Computer Game characters, I liked the choices people made of Mario, Pacman, Sonic, etc over the ones I knew less of even though they might have been a better developed character they just were not as "great" from a greatness aspect in my mind. The rest of my choices in order in case anyone cared were: Danny Mustang Lathum Detox Izulde |

1. Danny
2. Mustang 3. Wade Really, number 3 could have went to either Larry, Spleen or Detox. Wade's appealed to me slightly more than the others though. Lathum's choices were good too, I just didn't connect with a few of his choices is all. Izulde, I didn't recognize more than 3 or 4 on his list. However, I do know his literary knowledge is a lot deeper than mine, so, that's more me than anything.

You still have Dorothy Gale created by Frank Oz (Miss Piggy, Fozzie, etc). Should be L. Frank Baum

Very hard to compare across teams with the intermingling of time period/creator, so I just went based on feel.

1) Larrymcg
2) wademoore 3) Danny My voting came out very close, scores of 12,11, 11 for the three above. I scored the top three of each character type. Wade got the tie breaker for having 6 characters who scored, the most of anyone. The TV category was very tight, I ended up giving #1 to Lucy and tying everyone else at #2, I thought all those picks were really good. Video games was tough the other way, I just wasn't familiar with enough of the characters, and most had not reached a real mainstream knowledge. Some characters I thought would have scored better in different categories. I thought most of the teams were very well done though. |

Oh nevermind I see the issue with my list. Mary Catherine Gallagher was my movie character pick and Ichi was animated (based off of a comic).

I didn't. I viewed the time periods as more a restriction/strategy issue for the drafters, preventing them from just stacking great teams, but didn't consider it in my voting. It would be interesting to look at from the other angle too. But in my mind the categories better defined the character types. |

I think my favorite category was Unknown/Anonymous. I didn't know what that would imply before you started but everybody just hit it out of the park with their picks. Some really fantastic ideas.

I went through and ranked them by both character type and creator type. My results were:
I had a tie between wade and larry after doing this objectively so I did gut feel which gave the edge to Wade. Thus my votes are: 1. wade 2. larry 3. Danny Will tally and post final results soon. |

This was pretty clearly a two man race. Congrats to larry for carrying the day. Overall I thought people did a really good job and the teams were much closer than the final results (even my own) implied.

Congrats larry - I think it was deserved. I felt I had a very strong list, but that yours was right on par with it. Not sure I've seen such a two-horse race in one of these things before.

Wow, thanks!
You also had a great team, Wade. It really could have gone either way. I think you deserved more credit than you got for the Holden Caulfield pick. Fun draft, Barkeep!

Yeah, it was a strong deep draft. Everyone had lists that in a vacuum looked very strong. I think a few of these guys just pulled out more top picks than others.
