14 inches of rain fell in a 12 hour period. My brother said it raised the Mississippi river 6 feet. A rain cloud just sat on top of the county.

We broke the record for rain here in Chicago in July by a bunch. Was insane how much fell. My basement flooded the same night I lost power. Let me tell you how fun it is to slosh away in pitch black conditions trying to figure out what's wrong. The storms have also been incredibly strong with lots of thunder, lightning and wind.

Not sure what the heck is going on this Summer but the weather has been nuts.
