NCAA 2012 - March to independence
This will be a BYU dynasty (what else) chronicling the growing pains of becoming an independent in the quest to break the BCS. I will be starting as the OC, running a modified Air Raid offense that more closely resembles the West Coast offense of BYU past.
Sliders AA - 8 minute Quarters Game speed - Slow Speed Threshold - 25 Slider - Hum / CPU QB acc - 35 / 35 Pass blk - 70 / 70 WR cat - 65 / 65 RB skill - 60 / 65 Run Blk - 60 / 55 Coverage - 25 / 15 Pass rush - 90 / 75 Int - 25 / 20 Run Def - 50 / 50 Tackling - 40 / 40 FG Pow - 45 / 50 FG acc - 35 / 35 Punt Pow - 50 / 50 Punt acc - 40 / 55 KP - 45 / 50 For penalties offsides, false start and holding to 60, Off/Def pass interference as well as KR interference to 100 and the rest at default. House Rules on recruiting To emulate BYU's current approach I will only pursue players that want to come to BYU, initial interest has us in their top 5. In addition I must always contact the recruits that have us as #1 first and go down the list from there, spending at least 20 minutes with each recruit every turn as I go down the list. This means I will lose some kids because I will not get to them early enough if they have us at 4 or 5 on their favorites list. In addition I will make no promises to any recruits, which also fits with BYU's current recruiting style |

Week 1
We open at home with a sloppy offensive performance, but the defense picks us up.

Ah, EA. Saying UNLV stats when you played Rice.
Love your recruiting house rules, though.

Even in a video game losing to Utah ruins my night, if there was a way to program a let down into a video game after a big win, this is perfect coding. Passing was really off this game as I misfired to wide open receivers at least 5 times.

Week 4 Preview
An Athletic Central Florida team rolls into LES lead by a dynamic dual threat QB and an NFL caliber DE. We are favored but they can give us fits on both sides of the ball and we will need a mistake free game from Heaps to stave off the upset.

Week 4
For the first time all season we get off to a fast start forcing 2 costly fumbles early and are never headed in a much needed rebound win.

USU upset the Cougars last year in Logan so we are looking for some redemption as the Aggies come to Provo.

Not liking Heaps 5/8 TD/INT thing going on...
You better win this game....the loss to the U isn't helping the Boosters...

Quote:
Almost had some pissed off Boosters after our start against the Aggies!! One thing that really annoys me about online dynasty is that solo and assists are not added together to give total tackles and I just realized it today (I should have known better) Will just right them down before I close out of the game on the PS 3 from now on. Love the way the blocking is on the screens this version. Before Terrence Brown (#60) would have stopped and not continued out to pick up the corner, which spring the back on this play. Week 5
Big plays almost killed us, The DC (ahem, Bronco) kept dialing up ill-timed blitzes and I was sure it was 2010 all over again at halftime. Fortunately the Defense was much more conservative in the 2nd half and we controlled the ball with a stout ground game.

As the headline reads, nothing flashy, but the Cougars are never threatened as we handle San Jose State with ease.

Week 7 Preview
Seems like we have been home forever and I hope the team will be ready for a tough road trip to Corvallis. The Beavers have a couple of key players out with injuries which I hope we can take advantage of.
