Results are in. Lots of books I agree with, some I don't and others not yet read.

Surprised that the Xanth series barely made it, and the Dragonlance Chroncles did not, especially when the Drizzt series did make it. And in my biased opinion, Dragonflight is way too low.

Have read alot of books since my last update.
Dance with Dragons - enjoyed it and will continue reading the series but have to say I think the magic has worn off. The Last Four Things - not great but interesting plot & writing style, will continue to read. Eye of the World, The Great Hunt - I struggled through the first and have put down the second mid-way. I think I will finish it and then jump to Sanderson's books. Jordan's writing style is difficult for me. The Unremembered - really difficult to finish. I'll pass on the rest of the series. Have the Prince of Thorns ordered. Robin Hobb recommended it so will have to check it out. |

This particular series had such interesting potential, and feel unbelievably flat, in my opinion. Even keeping in mind the fact it's a pseudo time travel plot, the book(s) were incredibly disjointed. Pacing was just completely off throughout the entire series, and every time you'd read a piece and think "ooh, this could be interesting", the author just completely botched it. |

"Prince of Thorns" was okay. The ending was somewhat weak imo but will read the next one.
Picked up "Soft Apocalypse" from a closing Borders. I liked the overall plot, the writing was okay but it really wasn't exciting. Still a worthwhile read for those that like the genre. |

Brandon Sanderson metioned the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher in his reddit AMA thread. I had no idea Jim Butcher had written anything other than the Dresden series of books. I just finished all six in the series and I really enjoyed them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a finished series to read.
Sanderson also mentioned Dragonsbane by Barbara Hambly. I can't recommend that one though - it just wasn't for me.
