I couldn't justify leaving either Matthews or Munchak off to recognize some of the new Titans or the old AFL championship guys, though I hate not having McNair up there. Those are the 4 best players the franchise has had, and it's a step down from there.

Titans/Oilers Mount Suckmore
Al Del Greco
Nick Harper
Denard Walker
Chris Brown

I hate all these players for various reasons. Al Del Greco sucked in his later years, and singlehandedly cost maybe our most talented team of all time (2000) a game against the Ravens in the playoffs by missing a 31-yard FG and having 2 blocked, one that got returned for a score. Nick Harper was the worst cornerback I've ever seen, I can't ever recall him breaking up a pass or even having the ball thrown to his guy and the receiver not be wide open. Walker is just on here for falling down on the Issac Bruce TD play that preceded the 1 yard short drive. And Chris Brown is on here for fumbling inside the redzone like he had money on the other team.

I loved the 90s Oilers and you have some of the best there

By the time they were the Titans they were dead to me so I guess I missed Al Del Greco's incident. Once a team leaves- well, I liked Jeff Fisher and quite a few of those players but I would have been happy if they had gone 0-160 and then had to fold. Suck it, Bud Adams.

Thanks, gotta love those old Run N' Shoot Oilers! I didn't have any real geographic loyalty to the team (lifetime Ohioan so they actually moved closer to me) but even though I love the Titans, I still miss the old Oilers. If the Texans had kept the history and still been the Oilers a la the Browns, I probably would have kept my loyalties in Houston.

I left a lot of good to great players off of the list to include these four, including the rest of the Fearsome Foursome, Dickerson, Everett-Flipper-Ellard, Fred Dryer and Vince Ferragamo. But it's an impressive four.

The Rams have so many great players in their history, here's my list:

Eric Dickerson
Merlin Olson
Kurt Warner
Deacon Jones

And which of those four do you replace? All have had more pro bowls. MJD is arguably top three-five RB in the league consensus, and you would never have said that of Freddie. There were better - Marshall Faulk, Terrell Davis, Curtis Martin, Ed James, probably Eddie George, etc. MJD is considered by many the best all around back in the league and near the top of everyone's list - that's something. You can't pull Smith, Boselli or Brunell off that list. No to Freddy, or Keenan.

Hopefully, if things work out, in the future we can add Stafford, Suh and/or Calvin Johnson.

I found this hilarious!

This was tough. Shannon Sharpe, Floyd Little, Rod Smith, Louis Wright. You could make an argument for Gary Zimmerman, but I left him off because he spent the first seven years of his career with the Vikings.

It is tough. I think ten names are in the mix.

Elway
Little
Davis
Sharpe
Smith

Gradishar
Tom Jackson
Karl Mecklenberg
Louis Wright
Atwater

I'll go with two on offense and two on defense.

Elway
Sharpe
Randy Gradishar
Steve Atwater

Davis and Smith just missed the cut and if you put one of them above Atwater, I wouldn't quibble.

I think for the Pats I'd have to go:

Brady
Bellichick
Hannah
Cappelletti

I think Bellichick has to be there, even if we're talking players-only. I'm breaking the rule. He built this. Pre-current run, the franchise always exalted Hannah as their historic "elite guy" - and he was the 1st Patriot to be inducted into the HOF (it only took a few decades to get one). There were better players than Cappelletti, but I pick him as a representative of the old-timey Patriots, a guy who has done everything - kick, throw, receive, commentate on the radio - he's Mr. Patriot (old timey version).

I grew up loving Bledsoe, Coates, Grogan, Tippett, but that era of guys just seems a million times less important after what the team has done the last decade.

The only hard part about the 49ers is who do you kick off the mountain to get Bill Walsh on there? I guess it has to be Steve Young, but man that's rough.

Joe Montana
Jerry Rice
Bill Walsh
Ronnie Lott

Looking only at the Indy years, it would be...

Peyton Manning
Jim Harbaugh
Jeff Saturday
Marvin Harrison

If you take both...

Peyton Manning
Johnny U.
Art Donovan
and then a toss up between Harrison or Raymond Berry

Brown was where I was hesitant. He wasn't the genius of the Browns years and he made the two worst decisions in the history of the franchise. In the end tough, it was hard to find a better choice.

1. Anthony Munoz
2. James Brooks
3. Ken Anderson
4. Sam Wyche

Although Boomer Esiason and David Fulcher, among others, were close to getting on the list. Corey Dillon, Willie Anderson, and Chad Ochocinco have to be close as well.

Would be interested to see lists from the other Bengal fans... it really could be all over the place. The team has so few true icons.

I'm goin

Munoz
Boomer
Kenny Anderson
Ochocinco

Boomer won an MVP and got us to a SB. Ocho because he's the best receiver I've ever seen in person and was such an enigma that he would have to be on a "mount rushmore"

Man...its hard to pick 4 for a franchise like the Gmen and not feel like you're leaving somebody out. YA Tittle played most of his career with the 49ers but had 3 outstanding seasons for the Giants. Sam Huff would also get consideration as well. Eli vs Simms is a tough one but I think I'd go Simms at this point. Bavaro was certainly part of the first group of pass catching TEs as well.

I think I'd go

All Time Giants
LT
Strahan
Simms
Gifford

Simms, LT, Strahan, Carson was mine, but that really ignores the late 50s team which is a shame, considering half the roads in the neighborhood I've lived my whole life are named after them. Carl Banks is another guy you have to consider.

Indeed. The Giants and Bears are the two teams that need eras. Mel Hein was the best two-way lineman of his era, for example.

http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/me...x?PLAYER_ID=92

Summerall was basically "The field goal" and then an announcer, nothing more.

Long time announcer Marty Glickman should be remembered as the greatest of them all as he mentored many current announcers, who acknowledge his influence on their style. His is one the great radio voices of all time, right up there with Jean Sheperd.
