I want to give Jim Gindin Money
I want to throw my money at Solecismic Software for a game. Preferably an update to The College Years. I couldn't believe when I got on the company website that the game is now 10 years old. I also saw on there he wants to bring the simulations to consoles since they have the specs to do so now. I really hope Jim is going to spring something on us soon.

It's a joke. You know, from back when TK asked the question on a thread years ago when someone did a similar thread like this and was like "Oh, I came here for Hattrick."

Oh ya, I know, and my post was a reference to a 5+ year old bizarre jbmagic post that I hope that ONE person remembers. Anyone? No? Just me? Very well. It just cracked me up for some reason. Last edited by molson : 12-13-2011 at 12:37 AM. |

"My long-term goal is to maintain the two football games, keeping them on the cutting edge for this type of career simulation. My notebooks are littered with partial designs for new features and for other games. I'm never certain what is next, and I'm hopeful a publisher takes interest in these games, so I have the opportunity to bring them to the console world now that consoles have the memory necessary to run a simulation this size. In this field new challenges always beckon, and Solecismic Software has been a tremendously rewarding experience." |

For myself, I am hoping for an simulated Yahtzee game featuring characters and settings from Spenser's "Faerie Queen".

I think conference realignment is an obstacle to releasing any new college game right now. If he puts out TCY2 and San Diego State isn't in the Big East, people are going to gripe about it. Other choice is to make conferences really flexible in the game, but my recollection from the first game is that that causes design problems, so . . .
If there's no TCY2 it's the Big East's fault. QED. |

Yeah, for those who didn't get to witness the greatness that was jbmagic, you have some searching to do in the archives.

This reminds me of my friend's Nintendo basketball game, "Tecmo NBA Basketball". We used the game so much that it got a pretty bad glitch in it. We would have the tipoff, and the player getting the tip would just put up a halfcourt shot. Then, it would skip to halftime. We would inbounds the ball, and the same thing would happen, and it would fast-forward to overtime, which would be able to be played out normal. We called it Tecmo Overtime Basketball. It was pretty great for playing tournaments really quick (except on the rare occasions that one of the players would hit the half-courter). |

Oh and then there was Maximus. The guy who faked his own death on a message board. He also could have some unintentionally funny posts as well.

Don't know about that. I had always felt it was a joke account, because his earlier posts were much more coherent and then it was as if he developed a character that he began to hone over the years that was used for indirect trolling (I guess that is the best way I can describe it). Admittedly, I thought he was genuine too, but he didn't seem to have these supposed language barrier in any of his posts in the long past and towards the end he was going on an annoyance streak.

I think the only realignment feature that will be needed in future editions is the ability to put Missouri in any conference.

Good point. And when you choose between the conferences that have applied, a dialogue box could come up saying, "You hold all the cards", which could double as an ad for Up and Down the River.

I've been going through some of those old jbmagic threads, and it doesn't appear that he's been banned to me - at least his handle still says "Pro Starter" as opposed to Franklinnoble who is "Banned"

Dear Friend, my name is Azgba Okafor.
I am the eldest son of late Tobi Okafor from Nigeria. I am 24 years old and contrary to popular believe not the murderer of my father. My late father Tobi Okafor was a counter-law enforcement agent before his death. He was a hopeless man and in fact needed to have his head examined. After his death, i accidently spilled battery acid over his inheritance, and now we are left with nothing. Two weeks ago I was contacted by my fathers personal psychiatrist. He told me that my father left us the source code for TCY2. He said he has the power as my father's psychiatrist to release all documents that will enable us to release the game. The only problem we have is that we will have to find an honest, Godfearing foreigner who will act as my father's partner in the counter-law enforcement agency to make claim of the source code. You may keep 50% of the revenues. I also intend to donate part of the revenues to charity once we are able to claim it. This is the reason why I decided to seek for your assistant and cooperation to help us make claims of my fathers property. As soon as I receive your positive response I will inform my fathers psychiatrist. He will explain what is expected of you in this matter. Regards, Azgba Okafor |

My apologies. I've spent over 80 hours this past week investigating and tracking down those Nigerian fucks. Anything about sending money makes me think of those scams.
