The one game I really really really wanted when I was a kid. Damn thing cost like $80 back in 1981. Might as well have cost a million.

That game was unbelievable. I don't remember anything about it, other than that it was great.

Damn, you know now that I look at that, I can remember having that D&D game. I don't think we played it that often though.
(also reminds me of Dungeon!, which was cool but had so many freaking little tiles)

For those that want a time waster -
hxxp://www.hotflashgames.com/darktower.htm Dark Tower was only $45? Damn.. what the? I could have sworn it was more expensive due to the fact my parents said it was too expensive (I got the D&D electronic game instead) I still own 4 of those games listed on the catalog page (Dark Tower, Wizards Quest, Ouija Board and Mattel's D&D game)

Ouija board?
Umm ... weren't three Witchboard movies enough to cover that? And, since everything under the sun is online somewhere, I give you a guide to Ouija boards in film: http://www.museumoftalkingboards.com/Film.html

I LOVED this game. I used to play the hell out of it. I remember playing it in bed before falling asleep. I forget exactly how I accomplished it, but I didn't have a board, so I had an imaginary one in my head and just used the Tower. I couldn't get enough of this game. I was also a huge fan of "Dungeon!". Definitely a fun game. Those two and "Stratego" were the boardgames I played the most growing up. From there I moved on to games like "Battletech", "Warhammer", and "Strat-o-Matic Hockey". I've just started to re-discover boardgames over the last couple of years. There are some really good ones out there.

Add this to the list of crap movie ideas from games. It may be an even worse idea than Monopoly:The Movie

Actually... (can't believe I'm going to say this), but I think there are enough people that play this and there are enough oddities about the Sims that a screenplay is possible.

Wow, that's exactly how I remember playing the game when I was a kid. That trailer really brings back memories.

I wonder if the aliens got pissed because the US ship wasn't positioned exactly N/S or E/W.

The idea of Battleship the movie has been almost unbelievable to me this whole time. Now that I see the latest trailer, I am truly astounded. They have made it much, much worse and much, much more ridiculous than even the very, very, very stupid idea they started with.
Why did they pay anyone millions of dollars for permission to make a movie about aliens and robots? So insane, it's like a really bad Hollywood parody. |
