Google Play

I guess it was formerly the Google Android Market, or something like that. Anyways, they rebranded it the Google Play store and have been running some killer specials all week.

Today, for example, they're running Coldplay's new album for .25.

They are also running some movie rentals for .25.

They have converted a lot of their cloud brands to "Google Play"

Android Market is now Google Play
Google Music is now Google Play Music
Google Books is now Google Play Books

It's nice to see Google getting into the discount space. I have enjoyed the Amazon's free app of the day for quite a while.

Discount stuff is cool. Google Play is a ridiculously bad name, however.
