Continental League Announces Best Fielder Awards Winners
Thursday, November 16th, 2158: Who are the Best Fielder Awards winners? They are the guys that steal outs. They make spectacular plays, but they also consistently make the routine plays. This year in the Continental League these defensive stalwarts made a name for themselves with their gloves:

Snyder Selected CL Rookie of the Year
Friday, November 17th, 2158: A fine inaugural season has paid off handsomely for Archie Snyder of the Halifax Winter Wolves. The 25-year-old topped off his debut year with the 2158 Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

The Winter Wolves third baseman took the trophy by hitting .279 in 159 games and finished with 171 hits, 28 home runs, 111 RBIs and 77 runs scored.


Premier Rookie Picked By RL--Morín Selected
Friday, November 17th, 2158: All the games have been played, all the votes have been counted and the recipient of the prestigious Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award is Ramón Morín of the Toronto Marlboros.

This talented first-year performer hit .319 and put up a .395 OBP. In 149 games this year, the right fielder collected 190 hits in 595 at-bats, 34 home runs, 128 RBIs and scored 118 times.

2158 CL Gabriel Prado Award Chosen
Sunday, November 19th, 2158: This year the Continental League spotlight fell on Maurice LaRose of the Noblesville Millers. What a 2158 season he had!

A fine 16-12 won-lost record, 3.16 ERA, 33 starts, 210.2 innings and 180 strikeouts -- a season good enough to earn him the CL Gabriel Prado Award.


Top Pitcher Award Announced by RL
Sunday, November 19th, 2158: The Gabriel Prado Award for 2158 has been presented and the Republic League winner is Joe Gray of Chico.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Gray. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Rebels star told reporters.

Gray excelled with an impressive 17-9 record in 33 starts. In 211.2 innings he yielded 200 hits and 52 walks, while striking out 96 and compiling a fine 2.51 ERA.

Great Year Gets Manuel CL Hideaki Tanaka Award
Monday, November 20th, 2158: Carlos Manuel will undoubtedly earn a fat paycheck next year after winning the 2158 Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

If Noblesville doesn't shell out some big dollars for this left fielder, somebody else will. He finished the season with 179 hits, 32 doubles, 4 triples, 47 home runs and 123 RBIs, hit .305 in 160 games and scored 131 runs.


Republic League Top Batsman Is Vázquez
Monday, November 20th, 2158: 2158 was a special season for Hartford first baseman Jorge Vázquez and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

Vázquez compiled a .282 batting average and a .394 on-base percentage this year. In 162 games he piled up 167 hits, 25 doubles, 4 triples, 49 home runs, 130 RBIs and 110 runs scored.
