Pretty sure that's your perogative. I debated between the two, that's for sure. Maybe when PES comes down in price a bit.

Any word yet on when we might get a FM demo? I'm paranoid that it's going to be next Thursday while I'm out of town for a long-weekend and then I won't get to touch it for like a week! Would literally bring my laptop just for that reason...

Playing online is a lot of fun. The head-to-head seasons get you matched up decently. I do have to say that I wish the teams were a bit closer rating wise. I took West Brom and got matched up with Barcelona (although I won!).

But it's nice to see that you can't play like it's an arcade game or you'll get killed. The guy who took Barcelona went crazy trying to attack the whole game and I killed him on the counter. Won 1-0 but I probably should have had 3 goals if I wasn't such shit at finishing (hit the crossbar twice and missed a penalty).

This game is enjoyable. Just eked out a 3-2 win over Bologna as Juve with an 87th minute winner after falling behind twice.

Really I shouldn't have given up the 2 goals, but learning tactical defending is still a work in progress, particularly in closing down the middle via tugging versus jockeying - strikers still being able to get off shots while you jockey them.

i found/think that upping the oponents "run forward slider" as well as their man mark and pressure slider is a must as well as doing a neat little trick : Assign the 2nd controller (in career mode you have to enable that when setting the mode up !) to the other team and change their tactics up a bit. Most teams now play way too slow (in typical EA fashion going from 1 extreme to the other) and especially does the shot slider have to be above 50 or even 60, otherwise theīll just try to drible it into your goal and never shoot.

That way i had a couple nice games yesterday night, playing with Dortmund i beat Vallecano (friendly) 4:1 (2 late counters), beat Hamburg 5-3, then eeked out a 1:1 at Hoffenheim.

what really annoy me is that there isnīt a camera that lets me play "up the pitch" all the time (like 2K cam for NBA2k)

I can't stop drawing in online play. 1 win, 2 losses, 4 draws (three of those were 0-0) so far. I need 5 points from my last three games to get promoted to Division 9.

I can hold onto the ball, I can win the ball, I just can't create many chances.

I think in my whole FIFA 11 playing time I scored one FK goal. I just got one in FIFA 12. Hopefully it's not my only one. Beautiful shot by Pirlo from about 20yds out, dipped right over the wall and in.

Same. Half my games end in draws. I think online games need to be a couple minutes longer.

Gotta tell you - that was like the 79th minute of a 1-0 game...I was really just trying to play out the string and hold on for the win...I was literally jumping up off my sofa when it went in like "OMG!!!"

I think (from what I've seen in the 2-3 FK's I've had) the computer does a much better job of placing your angle for a shot so that it will go right inside the post (so that the guy on the outside of the wall is covering up the post), so I think that helps a ton.

Well, it's safe to say.. I've NEVER scored on one of those.

They seem easier this year. Small sample size though.

I used to score a lot on free kicks. Then again, I practiced a lot in previous versions.

I'm enjoying it a lot.

New defense is way harder, but at least they got rid of all the pressure nad easy tackling.

Sliders are great too. I have always liked world Class difficulty level, but hated how the CPU cheated specially on player's speed, with slow player catching up on your faster ones. Now i can play in WC with my speed slider 2 clicks over CPU one and no to feel cheated.

I'm actually getting a good number of fouls with the new set of sliders I'm using - Krebster's second set (still playing on World Class and not legendary) that he posted on page 18 of the thread in the OS sports forum.

And my defenders seem (with his little tweaks to the line width and length) to be more willing to close down around the box. Or maybe my defense is just getting better.

I'm about to beat Genoa 3-1.

I think the tweaks to acceleration and speed have made the CPU less prone to "dribbling thru your defenders with crazy tricks"

there is a game crippling but in Career Mode aparently, oh well ... (cpu players develop insane physichal attributes to the tune that a few years in every league has 50 guys rated 95+ there ... Strangely does not seem to happen for your own players which gives me a glimmer of hope it can be fixed)

personally i couldnīt play with the "run slider" that low for the CPU, just not enough stuff happening and the cpu not doing enough for my taste.

I am also having a few fouls now with my sliders and having a great time.

My sliders for a little more action :

game speed : Normal
difficulty: World Class
half length : 10/15

CPU:
Sprint speed: 40
Accl: 45
Shot error: 50
Pass Error: 85
Shot speed: 55
Pass Speed: 55
Injury Frequency: 60
Injury Severity: 50
Goal Keeper ability: 50
Marking: 80 (this actually makes it easier to attack at times, you donīt get cheap chances because of a ton of space but reversely you can now actually overplay the defense)
Run Frequency: 75
Line height: 40
Line length: 40
Line width: 40
Fullback positioning: 70

User:

Sprint speed: 42
Accel: 47
Shot error: 55
Pass error: 70
Shot speed: 50
Pass speed: 55
Injury Frequency: 60
Injury severity: 50
Goalkeeper: 52
Marking: 70
Run frequency: 90
Line height: 40
Line Length: 40
Line width: 40
Fullback positioning: 70
Power Bar : 50

Custom Team tactic must-dos for me :

CPU :

Chance pass risk above 50
shooting above 60
defense agression above 80 (more fouls and tackles that way)

own team :

chance pass risk/support : 80+
Agression : 80+

everything else depends on the oponent or your style, but i feel those are a must to get more challenges/tackles, more movement from your teammates and more offensive decicivenes from the CPU.

Aaargh - seriously!?!?!?

Don't like game-crippling bugs.

1-0, 2-0, and 3-0 wins in my last 3 games. Over Napoli, Palermo, and then Lazio no less.

Starting to get the hang of this.

Started a Be a Pro Career. Second game of the season I get taken out in the box and tear my MCL. Out for 4 months (and to make matters worse, my team missed the PK).

Does this game not have a 'Sim' to healthy option? At this rate, it will take 6 hours just to sim the 4 months of injury time.

I was considering picking this up for the PC. I'm not familiar with the FIFA games (last one I played was probably 10 or more years ago) and I was trying to look up whether or not you can play the big tournaments (like Euro and World Cup) in this game. I know they make specific games for Euro and World Cup but I'm hoping they'd have it all in one game for FIFA, though with EA I am not holding out hope.

So are things like the Euro and World cups in the game?

Nope. International teams are so you can play friendlies, but no international tournaments.

The "Euro 2012" game is an add-on DL to FIFA12 though. I haven't picked it up so I forget how much it is, but I presume you have to have the base FIFA for it.

That said, FIFA12 is a strong game.
