Juárez Is CL's Best Rookie
Sunday, November 15th, 2172: The top-rated rookie for 2172 in the Continental League has been selected and the honor went to Baltimore catcher Luis Juárez.

It was a season to remember for the 23-year-old Gothams newcomer. He wrapped up his first year with a .314 batting average, 36 doubles, 1 triple and 20 home runs. Juárez also had 80 RBIs and scored 76 times.


Rookie Trophy Reeled In by Hammersmith's Jarvis
Sunday, November 15th, 2172: In his first season, Bill Jarvis not only won the hearts and cheers of the local Hammersmith fans, he also nabbed the Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

This gifted third baseman compiled a .307 batting average while collecting 30 home runs and 115 RBIs with a .339 on-base percentage and scoring 96 runs.

Sánchez's Great Year Nets Gabriel Prado Award
Tuesday, November 17th, 2172: The Gabriel Prado Award for 2172 has been presented and the Continental League winner is Luis Sánchez of Cleveland.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Sánchez. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Cyclones star told reporters.

Sánchez excelled with an impressive 14-7 record in 32 starts. In 204.1 innings he yielded 174 hits and 60 walks, while striking out 167 and compiling a fine 2.60 ERA.


King of the Hill Announced by Republic League
Tuesday, November 17th, 2172: The Montreal Royals have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making.
It's Randy O'Rourke, this year's Republic League Gabriel Prado Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

O'Rourke compiled a 18-10 record in 33 starts, tallied 133 strikeouts in 226.2 innings and recorded a 3.18 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .269 batting average against him.

CL Announces Outstanding Batter Award
Wednesday, November 18th, 2172: Regardless of where Pedro Carasquillo signs on next year, the 29-year-old will be considered a marquee pickup after his award-winning 2172 season with Napa Valley. Carasquillo received word today that he has won the Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

The third baseman pounded out 216 hits, 42 doubles, 3 triples, and 25 home runs while hitting .340 and driving in 101 runs this season.


RL Hideaki Tanaka Award Goes To Durham
Wednesday, November 18th, 2172: Hammersmith's Tim Durham put the wraps on a fine campaign today by winning the 2172 Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

The 33-year-old veteran scorched the opposition with a .299 average, picking up 189 hits, 7 doubles, no triples, 51 home runs and 140 RBIs, while scoring 111 runs.
