Doesn't that actually require having a QB?

Yeah and they could easily be 7-2 if not for a dumb ass defensive play call at the end of the Jacksonville game in week 3.

Brutal(and deserved) hit piece on the Jaguars on Grantland.

Ending schedule is tough enough to not write them into the playoffs, but they will be close.

Seriously? I'm glad he's doing something about this, especially when defenses fake injury to slow down no-huddle offenses.

Last season when the Giants had two players flop at the same time against the Rams would have been a better time to start. It was so obvious it was laughable.

Short of Sanders walking in to the meeting and saying "Yup, total con job!", what was the evidence?

As a Steelers fan I can watch it and say, sure, he probably faked it. Just curious how it was determined to be a fake from watching a video. If the answer is it's Goodell's call, I'll stand by the initial statement of challenging Bettman.

Didn't they also end Jimmy Johnson and Dan Marino by like 62-7 in the playoffs?

I know it's largely unimportant, but has anyone else noticed that Shiano has Freeman kneeling down some ridiculous lengths? Last week he took a -6 yarder to end the game after the douchey coach calls a timeout. I envision that this play had to change some fantasy games..if it were me I'd be furious. It's bad enough when your guy records -.2 points kneeling it down twice, but there have been at least a few other longer kneel downs from the Bucs as well.

The first time some coach worries about someone's fantasy team will be the last time I watch. Fantasy stats are not a reason to complain about how the coach called the game.

Basically the only reason I watch the large majority of the NFL is because of fantasy football. I understand that Schiano has to put himself firmly in that Harbaugh/Harbaugh/Schwartz douchy bro bro mock tough guy coaching fraternity, but there's no reason not to act conventional like the other 25+ coaches in the league do.

I've seen similar plays several times. I don't know the circumstances for this play, but I've seen it when the game clock has a few more seconds than the play clock. The offense tries to run a few more seconds off during the play to avoid turning the ball over on downs.

Other than the "pat on the back handshake," can someone here explain to me how Harbaugh got his douche stigma? I've never heard or seen him treat coaches or players from other teams with anything but respect.

The thing I found stupid about it was that they snapped the ball in a short shotgun rather than taking it under center. Seems like you're just begging for a mistake there.

Harbaugh was my favorite player for a while when I was a kid. When he was with the Colts we sent him a letter asking for an autograph. He sent a signed picture that addressed me by name and said "To my friend, Danny". Pretty cool.

Yeah! Same with Coach Schwartz! And that pat on the back handshake was all that douche Harbaugh's fault!

Maybe this will be the week the Vikings finally give up on trying to throw the ball and just have Ponder run the option.

I hope not. And I hope we no Joe Webb. That guy killed the Lions last year.

I was actually supposed to be at this game today, sadly, I am at work.

Anyone else use wiziwig before to stream games? I just found this today. Nice that you can stream through Flash so no software needed. Not quite the resolution where I'd plug my laptop into the tv.

Wiziwig.tv | NFL schedules, watch live and free NFL streams

Seems like a legit site.

Man, the Buffalo Bills are just destroying their chances in this game, something like 7-8 penalties already and a sack-fumble that led to a Patriots TD

Did they ever. I saw it right away and was waiting for the announcers to say something. I was screaming at the TV for the replay crew to buzz down before the extra point. I HATE it when players flip the ball when they are going full speed as they head into the end zone. It's so tough to get your timing right with it. Just carry the ball all the way in, turn and run a few steps in the end zone and then flip it to the ref.

I haven't watched a ton of Carolina games this year, but I can see a couple of things.

1) They are clearly better than what their record indicates they are
2) They are a very poorly coached football team
3) While the TE is nice, they badly need another WR to take the heat off of Smith.
4) Back to coaching, they can be so successful calling screens mixed in with runs and some QB runs. Instead 85% of their drives are run, throw deep, throw medium. The creativity is mind bogglingly bad with a guy like Newton back there.

I know Newton has a 'tude and some of this is his fault, but this offensive scheme is terrible.

And yet Ponder has more than doubled Stafford's rating at the half. Megatron's injury only goes so far.

He hasn't been his usually horrible self, but he still doesn't look good and he's keeping the Lions in the game by making sure the Vikings settle for field goals.
