Hot Wings!
Alright guys, just bragging a bit....In these parts there are amazing functions where you pay 5 dollars and eat wings all day(Wing Dings). In 2011 I finished 3rd, and in 2012 I finished 1st. So in a couple short weeks I'm about to defend my wing eating championship. I've lost some wait and gotten in shape so I'm worried, but I'm gonna go out there an let em have it. I'll update you on my progress. The criteria is you get a 3 pound tray of wing and there's a time limit at the end they weigh how much is left in the tray(you throw bones back).

A 3-pound tray? So, 24-30 wings? Doesn't sound like the craziest eating contest in the world.

Yeah, the 90 seconds makes it more of a contest.

I know there are some wing "conventions" where restaurants/individuals supply all different types of wings, you buy a ticket and can try everything, eat as much as you want. Maybe there's a contest tacked on to the end?

Oh yeah it's a convention, that also has a contest, I apologize for the ambiguity I was drunk and on fofc and had wings on the mind last night.

Every time I see this thread title, I feel like heading down to the corner bar for some hot wings and a beer.

Last year one of the vendors at one of the wing dings I go to had a wing with a sauce that came in at 4 million scoville units....It was like eating flames, it was amazing. The sounds and smells of the bathrooms of these things are horrifying.

They have all different sauces, in flavor and heat. I went with the standard hot which is I think the 4th hottest they have. I'm not looking for pain today.

Usually it almost never hurts going in for me no matter how hot I love hot stuff. It's when it makes it's exit that gets me

Well I made a valiant effort but came up short this year....I've kind of just been laying low and recovering from the wings and booze since. Several people in the crowd implied that maybe they got trays mixed up during the weighing process because they said by sight I looked like I won, but that seems far fetched. Either way for the low price of 5 dollars I ate probably between 40 and 70 wings throughout the day. Now I just have to get ready for the next one

Damn, possibly 70 wings, that is impressive. A solid 3 months worth of wings for me.

Yes to specify the 70 wasn't during the contest itself, just saying throughout the 8 hours we were there that's about what I would guess I had. We kind of just grazed all day getting wings from the various booths.
