Redbox Instant
Looks like they have finally got their streaming option set up - one month free then for $8 bucks, $9 with Blu-Ray you get free streaming and four credits. Each credit is good for one night's box rental or one night late. Nice that they include some console games in this deal.

Good idea but not that fond of their streaming collection. The few "new" movies I checked are also available on netflix streaming so I dont see why this is a better option yet.

Yeah not so interested yet - seems like they aren't really positioned to be a Netflix threat yet, much less a replacement, at least until they up the numbers of new movies/games available.

Initial obvious reaction is -- I see why they feel they have to give this a try, but they are obviously so far late to the game that this appears hopeless.
Doesn't the eventual merger of Netflix and Redbox seem obvious to everyone here? Hell, even the color schemes already work. Seems like a no-brainer to me. |
