Connecting S2 to Wifi at home?
So I upgraded my smart phone late last summer and had no problems connecting to my home wifi. Typically when I come home my phone automatically connects to my wifi and we are good to go. This morning, I look at my phone and it says 4GLTE, and I am wondering why it isn't connected to wifi. I attempt to connect, click ok, and it does....nothing. Still 4GLTE.
I have a Galaxy S2 Samsung Skyrocket and have never had any problems with it at all until now. Prior to this I had a Galaxy Samsung Captivate that ran like a charm. I looked online to find a solution to this but didn't find much help. There is no common thread here since both my personal and work laptops are connected to home wifi with no problems and my wife's smartphone also connects no problem. Additionally, my phone will connect to a neighbor's unsecured wifi but not my own secured wifi connection (mine is a WPA2 PSK). Any thoughts or ideas? I am stumped and don't want my data limits going through the roof while at home.

Just a couple of quick thoughts that may or may not help.
On my Motorola Droid X2, I sometimes have to cycle the wifi off and then back on when I get home. Has your wifi password changed? Can your phone connect to wifi at places beside at home? This answer could help determine if it is a phone problem or a wifi setup problem. Sorry if this is stuff you have already tried, just throwing stuff off the top of my head. |
