Nope - SI are unprofitable and are going out of business.

(jk obviously).

I've been playing FM on and off since I think CM 03/04. This is the first version where I really have a hard time getting into the game. I can't quite put my finger on it. I tried the demo when it first came out and didn't buy it. Now I bought it on Steam Sale and it still isn't grabbing me.

I usually like to play like a General Manager in other sport sims so I though the "quick sim" option would be something I'd love, finally being able to get through a season faster -- it usually takes several months if I can find the time. However, the fact that I've been so used to watching extended play and making tactical decisions on the fly, the result of the simulation felt hollow.

There's just so much to do in a game like FM that it feels overwhelming, even for someone that's used to it having played several iterations. However, removing options to streamline the workflow seems somewhat empty, like I'm missing things that are intricate to the game.

I may be the only one feeling this way in a thread dedicated to the game or maybe I'm now too old to enjoy it anymore.

same here. the only way i can get enjoyment out of fm is by investing a ton of time upfront to study my team and their needs. this time around i'm just not capable of investing that up-front time to get into the game. but that's just more about where i am in life right now as opposed to the enjoyability of the game. i look forward to getting back into fm after i retire someday and have tons of free time.

Not the only one. I too play GM style but it takes too long for me to customize the game and to get immersed anymore. I can't get as interested as I used to which disappoints me because I do like so much the game

Anyone playing with a lower level mod for england? I enjoy starting out with those games and I have barely played my 2013 and I want to get some time on it.

Reason I ask, I see I couple of them out there and they all have their detractors, I am just looking for the best one..

I do but to be honest, "best" to me means "any one that doesn't crash". I'm not familiar enough to know the competitions or cups or anything at that level (or most levels for that matter).

I have to agree with this - I want the full GM experience but I don't want to have to constantly tweak my tactic or feel like I need a degree in soccer tactics to get some half decent results. Basically, I want a classic mode where I can be the director of football and appoint a manager who isn't a moron and doesn't result in me getting fired in half the time.
