And I can pull in a non-FOFCer if needed.

I think we're at 7 now.

Everyone cool with the draft as it's set, Wednesday night at 9:30 EST

Sounds okay to me, too. Should I ping the non-FOFCer?

Yeah, that gets us at least 8, which I'd the minimum to be competitive I think.

I have 6 in the playoffs, with 12 teams. If we only have 8, I'll change playoffs to 4. I assume that will add a week to regular season matchups.

It doesn't help that the NHL hasn't released schedules yet, but the season will probably run until late April.

The Wednesday night draft works for me.

And the NHL released the schedule last night.

Regular season runs through April 27, so we could stretch things out by 3 weeks.

I think we'll be cool, looks like changes still to come to the calendar

Resolution

With the NHL lockout having recently ended, the NHL has yet to release a 2013 schedule. However, depending on the start date, the NHL anticipates that the season will consist of 48 or 50 games.
Once the 2013 schedule is made official, we will adjust any Fantasy Hockey League settings that need to be adjusted, including the Maximum Games Played setting.
Updated draft and registration schedule:
  • We are extending registration to March 1, 2013.
  • Live drafts (and mocks) will end on Feb. 25, 2013.
  • The trade deadline will default to March 21, 2013. Public leagues that have already drafted are set for a deadline of March 7.
With the NHL lockout over:
  • We will adjust the game depending on what happens with the lockout and how much the NHL's regular-season schedule is affected.
  • We will ramp up the number of draft slots in the days before the scheduled season start.
  • Adjust leagues that use the max games played setting, based on the amount of games that are available

More importantly, we are at 9 teams. So I adjusted down to 10. One more interested party out there, right?

Also, with 10 teams (if we get enough interest, I'll bump back to 12), I dropped playoffs from top 6 to top 4.

Top 6 seemed too 1988-NHL

Drafting Wednesday night. If someone else shows interest, I'll PM you both and change openings to 12

I don't know if there's much else out there for hockey but if possible, could we use something other than Y! Sports this year?

ESPN and CBS both have customizable leagues. I'll check them out

Looks like to customized a CBS league, there is a fee

ESPN would be the other option, besides Y!

The new layout is an unreadable disaster, and they've stealth hid ads all over the place to look like legitimate articles to generate clicks. On principle, I'm not playing any fantasy leagues moving forward on Yahoo (unfortunately most of my football leagues this season are already there)
