Nearly all 7th grade math problems can be solved, on Wolfram Alpha. Here's the link to this problem: https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=simplify+%286d%29^-2
If you get the ipad App you can even get it to show you step by step instructions though there aren't any for this problem. |

Unless your kid is an Honors class, a 7th grader has no business messing with negative exponents.
