Im looking on a relatively small screen.
Are you asking about the black "triangles" at the bottom of the screen? Or something that is on the screen that I cant see. Also laptop or monitor?? |

LCD screen is bad.
You can replace screen only..may last as is for a long while |

No, there is 100% never any change in this pattern. Another person trying to help me called it "blacklight bleed" which I'm not certain about. He seemed to think *maybe* if I opened it up I could re-glue it or something?

Right, it's definitely something with the display (external output is fine, so it's not the video card). I'm trying to find out if it's something like the backlight or the inverter or something that's come loose that can be put back in place, etc.
It's a Dell Studio 1535 with 1440x900. |

Here is a video that shows you how to replace the LCD, you could open it up and check the wires/connections. I think eventually though.. you'll need to purchase an LCD.

I'm sure eventually all screens die, sure. Just hoping someone can tell me definitively what I need to do with this current problem. Thanks for the links. Not sure how to tell what kind of backlight I have in order to pick out the proper screen.
