Montreal Vacation
Hey guys,
I'm heading out to Montreal for four days at the end of October, and I'm wondering if anyone had any recommendations for when I'm out there. The Habs aren't in town while I'm there, so that's out, but I'd be grateful for any other recommendations. Strip clubs are already on the list. |

Did a weekend there a few months back. Most of the famous food stuff (bagels, Schwartz's smoked meat, poutine), I found surprisingly disappointing...but maybe was an off weekend.
However, did have 2 great dinners: 1. Damas, a somewhat stylish Syrian place (we were in jeans; not a problem, but were underdressed compared to most). If you like Middle Eastern food at all, it's well worth the visit. http://www.restaurant-damas.com/ 2. Au Pied de Cochon: thoroughly unhealthy and tasty Quebecois meat place. Hell, they have a foie gras POUTINE there. Have seen the place on a few foodie shows. Might need reservations in advance. AU PIED DE COCHON As for non-food stuff, I liked just walking around the city. Taking a bus up to Mont Royal was a bit disappointing, but was a nice view. |
