PSF 2014 Screenshots
PSF 2014 is in the final stages and I plan on releasing the initial version in late September with a built-in demo of the Career play with several fully working screens. I still have to finish the logic on player aging and drafts and then will release the Career option 2-3 weeks later.
Once it's out, I'm looking forward to more suggestions on improvements, and I'll post updates through the Fall, as with every year. I've completed most of the *extensive* UI changes, just finished the Casual Mode last weekend (it's pretty cool, actually), and now I'm making myself stop adding things and just focus on cleaning up what's there so I can release it. |

This is my fourth year working on the app, and it hasn't gotten the broad coverage I'd like, but I continue taking player suggestions, working on the UI, and improving it. It received good reviews last year and predicted Seattle winning the Super Bowl. The game is a sim at heart (I wrote the original for my Master's project), but also meant be fun whether playing multiplayer or against the computer. Folks here gave me a lot of great input regarding Career mode, and I'll have that in very soon. In fact, most of the big parts of Career mode are now working, but I have to work on some details in specific parts of the season. Long term, I want to add more "life events" to career play, but I'm going to be listening for ideas here! (note I won't be able to use real names in the release version, I'm just testing, and I'm not implying anything about the real players or NFL and my app) Last edited by Pro Strategy Football : 08-22-2014 at 02:21 AM. |

I think it looks pretty damn nice. I think QB's are throwing a ton of TD's, but I think the interface is pretty and clean and I hope it finds its way to the Android or the Amazon App store or something. I'm aching to put this on my kindle and see if FOFC wants to get a league going once career mode is implemented.

Looks great!
I really like the casual mode, since the detailed playcalling can get a bit tedious for me after a while. Can you switch between casual and hardcore mode during a game? |

This is a good question actually. I might find myself going between the two.

Hey, guys, home from work, good to see your questions! Right now, you can't switch between modes mainly because I'm afraid it might an advantage to the defense in multiplayer mode if offense is in casual and defense switches to hardcore, and also because I can't find a good place to put the button!
However, I agree that it would be nice option, so I'll look at that. And I can always add it in the first patch! I do really like the idea of saying "I want to stop his medium passes" and let the computer make the choices (2-deep zone, Pass, probably Stunt), and then let me tweak it if I want. I'll keep thinking about that, and if you have suggestions on it, let me know! Julio, you mean the passing game is too easy? thanks again, guys! I'll update you again soon! |

Guys, I want to throw something out there and then to give you an update.
First off, I thought I'd put some of your names in the game, since the editor won't be ready for a while. I'd like to start with the guys who have given me suggestions in the last year and then see how much time I have to add others. Another user raised the suggestion, and it may be cheesy, but if you're interested in having your name in there, let me know. Now, I already have some reserved, sorry, and some of you may wind up asking for the same positions, so here's my proposal: - give me two or three names you'd like to see in the game - for each name, give me three positions (team and position) in order of preference, with your first choice first Now the update. I've made some pretty cool changes but I'm now going to switch to the "clean up and ship it" phase, putting some changes on hold. One of the changes I like is that some incomplete passes will now be completed for shorter yards, where the receiver comes back to the ball. This should help good QBs have better completion percentages than were sometimes happening, but not crazily so. I have to re-insert all the multiplayer code and then do a solid week or two of testing. There are some cosmetic changes that I may defer until the first update now, it depends on how rapidly this all goes. |

I definitely like the compromise on turning incompletions into completions but for shorter yards.

I just think there should probably only be 2 or 3 QB's who break 40 TD's in a season. It may be that passing in the red zone is a bit too easy. I haven't been able to play the game yet though, I am waiting for an android or PC version so I can get into it.

Julio, I found the issue with the QBs. I had some incomplete defensive numbers. It's now simulating correctly. Thanks! |

JimboJ!! I took your suggestion and added this feature! I'm not allowing switching in Game Center multiplayer matches, only because I haven't tested it enough there. But in any other game, you can now switch between Casual and Hard Core as often as you want. Great suggestion! |

I love the work you're doing, and I am this close to buying a used iPhone or iPad just so i can play it.

Thanks, Julio, I appreciate that encouragement! My real job is demanding a lot of me right now, but I'm still working hard on both the career and android conversion, then iCloud and eventually get those three new formations in the game (wildcat, pistol, and no-back).
