man Krenzel might be banged up but he's played like complete shit today. he hits a couple of those long shots they took to wide open recievers and this game is much tighter, kudos to the Buckeyes for staying as close as they are though, they coulda rolled over and given up at 28-7, but they showed some heart and are still crackin on them.

I'm looking forward to Gutierrez/Breaston next season. Still holding my breath on this one. I've never had much confidence in Navarre, and we're going to see a run stack now.

Maybe I have a bad memory, but wasn't there a lot of talk about how Perry couldn't do anything against a real defense?

Anyway, he's impressed me today. The guy just looks like he's dying after every play though, he could possibly suffer from Eddie George syndrome before his college career ends.

Did you see him when he carried 51 times against Michigan State. Halfway through that one, he looked half-dead. But he kept on taking the ball.

Krenzel looked more like a pro quarterback than Navarre until that last possession. He's obviously still in pain, but he's still their best bet.

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong. The kid is showing a helluva lot of heart, he just keeps on trucking.

I actually feel bad for him though, especially after the MSU game, I know they had to do what they had to do to win, but man...I just feel bad seeing a kid taking that much of a pounding. Afraid it will catch up to him way too soon.

He's one tough sucka though, give him that.

Good to see a team like Michigan beat a program like Ohio State.

Plus we hopefully don't have to deal with a vastly overrated team making it to the BCS.

The holding call was legit. He had a chokehold on the DE.

I'm glad that it didn't matter, and glad that THE most overrated football team in the nation will not be making another trip to the title game.

I'm glad the game turned out the way it should have. Michigan had to play poorly to lose its two games this year; OSU had to play well just to win several games this year. This is about what I expected, although take away the holding call (it was definitely legit) and at 35-7, this game would have been even more fun to watch.

I'm not sure how to respond to this.

Are you still pissed that I called the Ohio State/Miami game last year when many people on the board were saying it would be a 5 TD rout?

Have you read ANYTHING I've written about Ohio State this year? Just so you know, I've said sinse before the Wisconsin game that this Ohio State team was different than last years version. I expected them to lose 3 to 4 Big10 games this year. They proved me wrong and only finished with two losses.

I ask only one thing if you are going to call me out on a bad prediction. . . make it something I really said.

This is also a squad that got incredibly lucky against Minnesota. They gave up close to or over 400 yards rushing to them.

Is coming back from a 24-point deficit in the 4th quarter lucky? If so I would take that luck any day.

I watched that game and Minnesota dominated them for three quarters and lost. Michigan definately earned the victory, don't get me wrong. What I was saying is that Minnesota is an average to slightly above average squad, and they were able to push Michigan around so I doubt they would give OU much of a game.

Time to face the music. Congrats to UM, they played a great game today. I hope they do the Big-10 proud in Pasadena and administer a black and blue ass whippin in true B10 style to whomever they play. Also, many, many kudos to Chris Perry. He was a MAN today.

As for my Buckeyes, I am proud of the fact they didn't fold and stood up and made UM earn it when they were down 28-7. I think Jim Tressel has a lot to do with that. Under John Cooper this would have ended up 49-7. I was also greatly diassappointed in the D effort. If they could have just tackled this might have been different. I can't recall a single time where the first man hitting Perry actually brought him down.

Hopefully OSU, with their fan loyalty and virtual guarantee of a sellout wherever they play, can get a shot at the Orange or Fiesta Bowls. You all may have to tolerate another OSU-Miami game or even OSU-FSU. Either way, I like our chances. Good luck Michigan, GO BUCKS!

Well done on both sides. Michigan was clearly the better team. They basically moved the ball at will. There was a severe lack of concentration in the 3rd quarter when the game was 28-7 and 28-14. But as soon as it was within in touchdown, Michigan moved the ball down the field with ease and scored a touchdown.

Michigan's best players were the best today: Perry, Edwards, Breaston, etc.

A solid game alll around.

GO BLUE!!!!

HAIL TO THE VICTORS VALIANT!
HAIL TO THE CONQUERING HEROES!
HAIL! HAIL! TO MICHIGAN!

4. The teams play each other "often" (this is relative depending on the sport). Familiarity breeds contempt.

Yeah, but college basketball is boring.

Besides, everything is decided in the tournament, regardless of what happens in the regular season. Hence, the game has less meaning.

Sorry.

Again, congrats to UM for whipping the Bucks up front, all day long.

No pressure on Navarre + Chris Perry for 150 yards = UM in Rose Bowl.

It's well deserved. Unlike most of the Buckeye fans around here, I think USC deserved to be in the Sugar Bowl more than Ohio State, and now they will get that chance (provided the BCS doesn't screw them and they don't screw themselves vs. the Beavers).

That being said, I don't understand why so many here were rooting against Ohio St. Many other college programs have had just as many (if not more) disciplinary problems than the Bucks this year, and Ohio St. is not a program out of control. It seemed like where most people rooted for Ohio St. last year, this year they were the villains. Just confusing to me. Oh well, like or dislike whoever you want. I know all the Buckeye fans here will be watching with me and rooting for them in the Orange Bowl.

I can't help it. I just hate them because I was born that way (and then went to UofM for 7 years). But, I can sympathize, they are a hateable team if there ever was one.

But...

NOW, the hate is over. No more hate until around July/August of next year. No bitter taste of defeat, only the smell of roses in the air.

An interesting fact I noticed while reading about the game:

Ohio State's schedule was heavy on spread offenses throughout the season - Washington, San Diego State, Bowling Green, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Michigan State and Purdue.

I think this goes a long way explaining why OSU's defense was ranked #1 against the run coming into this game. None of those teams run the ball. The only teams who did... Wisonsin and Michigan.

You're the only person I've really heard bring this up. I knew it. Most of my friends knew it. We played a LOT of spread teams this year. When we had to stop the run against UW (Booker Stanley sealed the game... ugh) and UM, we couldn't do it. I do think that OSU's defense was a very good bunch, but their stats were helped a lot by facing predominantly passing teams all year.

I'm guessing he was simply highlighting the fact that the Rodents averaged 293 yards/game rushing (#2 in the country). They have two tailbacks with at least 990 yards, and they average 6.1 and 6.7 ypc. Yikes!

butter, I've always hated OSU. I don't really know why, I just do. They're probably my least favorite football team in the Big Ten. Even more so then Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The last two years I've really started to hate them because:
1) Iowa has started to become really good, and when your team is good, you have to hate the other good teams in conference.
2) I can't stand the way they win(and play) it's usually effective but it's really, really annoying. The even though you play like shit every single week, you still find some way to win.

But now, since the season is over, I'm a Big Ten conference fan, and I hope that all the Big Ten teams(even Ohio State) win their bowl games!

See college football forum.

You're preaching to the choir if you're telling me Mason is vastly inadaquate.

That said, the Gophers would have run all over OSU.
