Down Loading Problems
I bought the game tuesday night and have been trying to download it ever since then. I have dial up internet (sucks, kind of wish the CD-Roms were around again this year) and it gets about half way through and the connection stops. I was wondering if there was anything I could do or change to get it done. I just tried it today and got 90% of it downloaded and it petered out on me, and I almost through the computer and everything out the window so any help would be muchly apperciated. I would like to get this downloaded before the end of the season Or is there anyway to download it to another computer and put it on disk or something at transfer it to my computer? Cause I'm wasting almost two hours everytime I try to download it, or in the case of this morning almost 3 hours. I have nothing to do today, no g/f around (shopping), the house to myself and I want to play this damm game!!! Anyway, thanks for the help.

Yes, you can download it on another computer, burn it to a CD, and install it on yours. Did you try the Viatech site, or the mirror site, for your download? The mirror is www.younglifenorthdekalb.com/FrontOfficeFootball2004.exe

I think your problem might be because you are writing "downloading" as two words.

I would try getting a program like Get Right. This program allows you to pause or continue a download. It is free to try. I have had pretty good success with it.

I'm trying the mirror site. I'll see if that makes a difference. I'll check that program hurst. I could have had it done by now if I didn't have to start over every single time.
As far as the down loading as two words thing, I got my education at Boise State, what do you expect?? But you missed the fact that I had through instead of threw...just thought I'd point that out |

Whoo hoo...at 43%..this is about the time it starts to puke..It sucks having to spend my entire off day playing Madden all day, I want this game up and going.
The problem is, once I get this downloaded I'm going to have to head to work, then my buddy is in from out of town, and I'm not going to be sober enough to play until sunday...oh well I hope I spelt (or is it spelled, I had an ex g/f write my papers in english) everything right for everyone. Obviously from the edit, you can tell I missed a few things Last edited by Steel City Spud Farmer : 11-28-2003 at 06:20 PM. |

I'm not running anything...if it doesn't work on this run, I'll try to get something for it. I'm at 61% and counting...I'm not the computer savvy person by any means

If you don't get it on this try, then I suggest trying it using flashget, that way if you lose your connection or something happens to the download you can start where it left off. And as a bonus it speeds up the download noticably for dial-up.

AUGGGHH At 81% and it puked on me again..This is frustrating as hell. I'm going to get something to help with it, but it will have to be later in the weekend, I have to be at work in an hour an half so it's pointless to start on it again now. Thanks for your suggestion herd. I'll download that before I try another run.

swtich to mozilla and free yourself from the Evil Empire. Then you can resume failed downloads becuase Mozilla has a built in download manager.

I don't know how it works with other DL managers, but if you go here and get FileHound, you'll be able to continue your existing DL and not have to start again - let me know if you want details of how to do it.

Do you know anyone with DSL or Cable and a CD burner?
That stinks, I hope you get it finished soon. DL managers should help in getting the file. Todd |

As I thought I haven't had a chance at another crack at it (long weekend). But I'm going to download one of those DL managers and try it then. Thanks to everyone for their help. Hopefully I get this done this week because I'm about burned out on Madden BLEAH!!
As for the Broncos and UTEP, yeah we've been pasting them in football (and everyone else in the WAC) and I think the basketball team will be better than the 9th place predicted in the coaches poll (I think it was 9th), but we'll see. We haven't had a decent basketball team since Bobby Dye left. |
