IWS #230 - Stupid flies again - THE RESULTS
This is how an IWS is supposed to be. There was no one eliminator question, there was tight groupings across all responses. Without any further ado, here are the results:
IWS #230 Quote:
I thought this was going to be a runaway, as the first few submissions all mentioned the same airline. Then it wasn't mentioned again. Funny how that works. Virgin - 6 American - 4 Delta - 2 Jet Blue - 1 Singapore - 1 Air France - 1 Emirates - 1 Hawaiian - 1 Southwest - 1 Quote:
Stupid doesn't fly much, as the answer that tied for the lead isn't a valid seat number on a plane. It is clear from the valid answers that Stupid likes a window seat. 20A - 3 20 -3 10A -2 10B - 1 15 - 1 38B - 1 30B - 1 100 - 1 28A - 1 1A - 1 1B - 1 10C - 1 10 - 1 Quote:
Stupid comes out on top again here, by picking a car rental company instead of a specific car. Hertz - 3 Fusion - 2 Camry - 2 Mustang - 2 Corolla - 2 Malibu - 1 Focus - 1 Civic - 1 Taurus - 1 Accord - 1 Enterprise - 1 Toyota - 1 Quote:
Not a whole lot of variation, the bulk of the answers were to three chains. Hilton - 5 Marriott - 4 Holiday Inn - 4 Best Western - 2 Motel 6 - 1 Holiday Inn Express - 1 Quote:
This was a tougher one to score. There were some similar answers, but I ended up splitting out into different categories, as I've experiences first hand all of the various forms of compensation for bumped flights. A voucher is different from a ticket, because a voucher is set for a certain amount, and a free ticket is good for any valid city pairs. And I have seen straight cash given, which can be spent on anything. Voucher - 8 Cash - 5 Seat upgrade - 2 Ticket - 2 Meal - 1 Quote:
It does take Stupid a bit of time to realize that their bag isn't on the carousel. 30 minutes - 8 1 hour - 6 45 minutes - 1 20 minutes - 1 15 minutes - 1 10 minutes - 1 The scoring: Forgot their ID Code:
Bag too big to fit in overhead bin Code:
Wants to use the restroom located in First Class Code:
Follows the flight attendant's safety briefing Code:
Gets an extra bag of peanuts Code:
And the winner... Scored the number for one of the flight attendants Code:
Thanks to all who participated!

I was debating between 20 and 20A for the seat, and remembered this was Stupid, and went with 20. I was actually surprised that most people picked an actual seat.
This was a tough one, and I sucked as usual. But good questions. |

Gah! Stupid "Stupid" for picking a car rental company over a particular model! Not that my model choice did well at all. So damn close...
Congrats, CW!

I am assuming that those who voted for Delta as having the prettiest flight attendants must be 'fat bitch' fetishists.

I'm disappointed that I misread the seat number question, and thought we were looking for a "bad seat" rather than just "in coach." I don't know what I would have done had I read it correctly, though, and I doubt it would matter overall as I was subpar elsewhere.
I ended up entering 38B as that seems to be the last row on a 737, but I do so knowing that this 45 second investment of my time was wayyyyy to much research for Stupid. (cf. Hertz) Really good set of questions. |

I pretty much took that question to be "pick an airline" because I didn't really know that any airline was known for having better looking attendants than others. That would be why I finished in the bottom half. I'm also with Kickstand on the car question.

Laughing at winning the car rental question with "Hertz" when I clearly misread the thing.
