USFL Championship Trophy - Press Release
Jacksonville, Florida -
After much consideration by the marketing comittee of the newly reformed USFL and careful consideration of the inferences and attached symbolism when crowning a Champion with the league's highest honor, The USFL has finally settled on a name for such a prize. The trophy will act much like the NHL's Stanley Cup in that winners names, year, team name, and MVP will be engraved on it. Once the side or ring has been filled the oldest one will be carefuly removed and sent to the Hall of Fame for enshrinement. The team owner will be responsible for holding the trophy until that team is eliminated from eligibility for the next year's tournament at which time the trophy will be remitted back to USFL HQ to be engraved with the newly minted champion. This trophy's name needed to reflect its prestige, longevity, strength, and most importantly success. Thus the USFL will here on out award the Championship Trophy as The Herschel Walker Trophy. Please refer to our website's teams page to see if there are any teams available for potential ownership. Office of the Commissioner USFL |
