A little backstory before we jump into this. I've played Madden religiously since the stone age and more recently it just isn't scratching that itch I have for GMing. So, after a couple days of trying to find a game that fits my needs I landed on FOF7. I was a little skeptical at first, being that I've never played a sports sim on this level, but I can not put this game down.

So, after many trail plays, and practice attempts, I kinda want to make my game public. In doing so, since I'm still learning, I want everyone to know I'm open to any and all criticism. If I do something blatantly baffling, point it out, because I am using this as a practice tool to jump to a MP league soon-ish.

With all this being said, let's get this show on the road.

Remembering The Titans - A FOF7 Story

A team that has been through some lows recently reaching back to the Yard Short SB, to the Cinderella 08' 13-3 season cut short by the Ravens, to the loss of their "beloved" owner Bud Adams, there have been few highs for the Tennessee Titans. I am here to (hopefully) change that. I am being brought in by new owners to take over the team and push them into the upper echelon of NFL talent. I have promised the group on new owners that I WILL have this team competing for a Super Bowl win within 5 years.

I accepted the job with no preconceived notions, this will be my team and my team only. Seeing that I have a cast of coaches being paid large sums of money, I will use them and delegate all game planning decisions to the group.

With that in mind, lets take a peak at our roster and see if the game world has been kind to me:

Couple quick notes:
- Immediately I see possible issues out of our QB situation
- Chris Johnson is overpaid for his rating, he is on a tight leash performance-wise. Due to the high risk/low reward scenario the previous GM has created, CJ is on the trade block as of right now.
- The quality of our defensive line is astounding, including the second string
- Currently our Linebacking corps is weak, but all have promise to grow into something better.

PRESEASON WEEK 1-5, 2013

Being a young and untested GM taking the reins of his first team, I have many doubters, nay-sayers, and flat out haters. Well, today marks the first move in the chess match that is the NFL.

After a very long conversation with Xavier Ellison, agent for RB Chris Johnson, and the running back himself, there has been a major change in his contract. Chris has signed a fresh re-negotiated 4 year, $25 million contract, spread evenly over each year. This is a vast drop from his previous 4 year, $48 million contract, saving the team $4m in cap space over the life of the contract. ESPN and Sport Writers everywhere are scrambling to cover the news, so far in good light. This is the first good PR the team has had in a long time.

On the heels of the headline making news, we are heading into our first preseason game. I'm keeping a keen eye on budding stars in our rookie WR Justin Hunter, and 3rd year DT Jurrell Casey. Also, the major position battle at QB between Jake Locker and Rusty Smith.

Currently the team is middle of the pack in power rankings, 17th.

Redskins @ Titans: Titans held steady through a high scoring 4th quarter to win 37-20. We pulled an early lead due to a Derrick Morgan(DE) 77 yard interception return for TD. Other noteworthy stats, sacked Redskins QB a whopping 7 times. 1-0.

Titans @ Bengals: Titans Kicker Rob Bironas nails a last second kick to win 15-14. Posted great offensive numbers, but had two drives cut short due to fumbles. Rusty Smith leads the final drive to within field goal range. Bironas shines as he kicks 5/5 with a long of 58 as he is the only source of scoring the entire game. 2-0.

Falcons @ Titans: Rob Bironas is earning every penny of his paycheck as he goes 6/6 leading the Titans to a 25-17 victory, MVP Alert. Both Locker and Smith throw for better than 65%, going to be tough battle. Injury Update: Starting CB Alterraun Verner left the game with a broken nose, is probable for next weeks game. 3-0.

Titans @ Minnesota: Vikings Defense comes up with 3 turnovers, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble to trump the Titans 30-14. Rusty Smith 15/34, 223 Yds, 1 TD, 2 INTs while Locker went 8/9 80 Yds, 0 TD, 0 INT. The decision has been made on the starting QB. 3-1.

Checking over the preseason stats, it's obvious Locker has won the starting job at QB, as expected, but I don't believe he will be the face of our franchise. Unexpectedly, our defense performed fairly well coming up with 3 INTs returned for touchdowns. I shouldn't even have to mention team voted MVP Rob Bironas and his 16/16 preseason.

Heading into season, I am optimistically hopeful for a 9-7 with a playoff appearance. We have few holes in our team, but they are huge. QB, a weak RT, and a young linebacking corps will be our weakness this year. On the other hand, our defensive line has shown it's ability to be downright dominate. With all this in mind, let's get this show on the road.

WEEK 1-4, 2013

Titans @ Steelers: Pittsburgh wins a nail biter, last second QB Sneak by Big Ben to take home the W 23-20. Justin Hunter, our fledgling star WR, took the initial kickoff back for 94 yards and 6. Coach Munchak pulled Locker after one drive (3/4 28 yards) and let Veteran Fitzpatrick finish the game, rumors are flying. 0-1.

Titans @ Texans: Playing division rivals is never easy, especially when on the road. Texans RB Arian Foster scorched the Titans D to the tune of 220 yards and 2 TDs on 28 attempts leading the Texans to a blow out 26-6 win over the Titans. Munchak pulled Locker again after 2 drives, going 5 for 10, this time for the other young QB, Rusty Smith. I have sat Coach Munchak down and had a lengthy conversation on the topic, but I don't see any good things coming out of any of this. Number one focus in the next draft is a franchise QB. Injury Report Notables: Starting CB Alterraun Verner out for 4 week with a pulled groin, starting FS Michael Griffin out for 2 week with a sprained knee. 0-2

Chargers @ Titans: Jake Locker shows a ton of promise in his first full game this season, leading the Titans to a 33-10 win over the Chargers. Jake posted a 20/31 262 2 TD game with 0 INTs, helping young WR Kenny Britt to a 6 Catch, 77 yard game. Rob Bironas is also 100% on the year through 12 FGs, with 5 being for 50+ yards, absolute monster so far. 1-2

Jets @ Titans: Jets fought hard but drop the ball against the Titans late in the 4th, Titans win 24-19. Rookie WR Justin Hunter posted a top-teir game, with 11 Catches for 106 yards and a pair of TDs. Titans have also brought back a Smash and Dash gameplan for their RBs Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene, posting 148 yards and a TD between the pair. 2-2

Post Season Q1 Thoughts:
Most importantly, QB Jake Locker has played decent, respectable football. He's not the next Peyton Manning, but he gets the job done. Rob Bironas is a damn machine, so far he is 100% on the year with 7 coming from 40+, he may be worth the hefty price tag coming soon. Rookie WR is on pace for a 80 Catch, 800 Yard rookie season debut, which bodes very well for him. If Smash and Dash were one player, they would be ranked second in rush yards so far, with a ridiculous 7.3 yard per attempt average. SS Bernard Pollard is leading the team, and 2nd in the NFL with 37 tackles, this really bothers me, and I'm not sure Im happy about this.

Around The League:
-Rookie Seattle QB Russell Wilson is on pace for a 52 Passing TD season with 13 through four games.
-Two star RBs, Texans Arian Foster and Eagles breakout LeSean McCoy are both on track for 2000 yard seasons, posting 586 and 503 respectively.
-DE Cameron Wake out of Miami is leading the sack column with 6.

WEEK 5-9, 2013

Chiefs @ Titans: Kansas City was shut down in a defensive struggle that should have been much closer, Tennessee snatches the win 22-3. RB Chris Johnson had a decent game with 88 Yards on 24 carries with a TD. Locker once again played the game manager role throwing 18/26, but no TDs or INTs. A solid nominee for MVP of the game was Rob Bironas going 5/5, with two coming from 40+. Titans Defense force one fumble and one interception holding the Chiefs to 183 Yards total offensively. 3-2.

Titans @ Seahawks: An absolute edge of the seat nailbiter out of Seattle tonight, coming down to an interception return for a TD in overtime! Final, 32-23 Titans. The biggest, most astounding stat is that Tennessee's pass defense, with budding star CB Verner cleared from his pulled groin, practically shut down the league leading passer in Seattle's Russell Wilson. Through 4 and a half quarters they held Wilson to 24/28, 265 yards and a touchdown, but picked him off three times, once for the win in overtime. Titans RB Chris Johnson also had a great night going 151 yards on 19 carries, breaking a highlight reel 62 yarder for a touchdown early in the 4th. Jake Locker had a decent game going 28/37 271 yards and a touchdown, but almost threw the game with a late interception. Lastly, Rob Bironas was, once again, automatic, going 4/4 with one from 44 yards out. 4-2

49ers @ Titans: Tennessee pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back, taking the win from the previously undefeated 49ers, 27-14. Biggest play of the game was a kickoff returned 103 yards for a TD by S George Wilson. It was a pretty pedestrian game, stat-wise. Locker going 19/27 for 172 yards, Smash and Dash combo mounting up for 131 yards and a TD. Titans defense forced and recovered 3 fumbles, shutting down the 49ers offensive drives. 5-2. Injury Report: CB Alterraun Verner out for 4 weeks with a severe wrist sprain.

BYE WEEK

Titans @ Rams: St. Louis came out strong, but immediately faltered to the Titans multi-faceted offense, letting the Titans leave with the win, 24-6. RB Chris Johnson had a standout game having 126 yards from scrimmage, as well as 1 receiving TD. Jake Locker had a very good game himself, throwing 26/31, 261 yards, and 2 TDs. 6-2.

Post Season Q2 Thoughts:
Somehow, despite our lacking roster, we find ourselves in the midst of a possibly great season. This is taking me by surprise, but at the same time e have many weapons on offense. Though few, if any, of those weapons are elite. It seems if one falters someone is always there is pick up the slack. We are playing a lot like the Kansas City Chiefs of last year, great team play and a game managing QB leads to wins. I believe we can keep this win streak going heading into the second half of this season. Stat-wise, Locker is performing like a top-tier QB with a QBR of 93.7 right now. Couple that win Smash and Dash on track for a 2200 yard season combined, and a rookie WR on track for 1000 yards on 100 catches and you've got yourself a deadly offense. An absolutely automatic Kicker in Rob Bironas sure does help, going 24/24 with a season long of 54. On the opposite side of the ball there are fewer breakout players, but as a whole the Titans defense affects opposing QBs on 21% of their drop backs, although mostly hurries and knockdowns. CB Jason McCourty is tied for 2nd most Interceptions currently at 5, taking two back for TDs.

Around The League:
- Rookie QB Russell Wilson has slowed his pace a bit, but is still on track for an amazing season. If he keeps this up, he'll end the season with 48 TDs, 5200 yards, and 22 INTs. Current QBR of 103.0.
- Three RBs, Texans Arian Foster, Eagles LeSean McCoy, and Vikings Adrian Peterson, are set to break the 2000 yards rushing mark. They are on track to hit 2292 yards, 2052, and 2046 yards rushing, respectively. Arian Foster has also played one less game that the other two, but still leads in every category.
- With Russell Wilson having to throw the ball somewhere, WR Percy Harvin is racking up receiving yards, already breaking out for 1052 at the halfway point of the season.
- Rob Bironas is currently leading the league in FG made, nailing 24.
- DE for Miami Cameron Wake, and Cincinatti DE Michael Johnson are tied at 11 sacks a piece.

Hey, nice write-up!

That really was a monster contract for CJ. However, you've upped the bonus in renegotiating, so he's going to cost $6.25M in cap space + whatever original bonus he had on his first deal for each of his 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th seasons. Hopefully he keeps his performance up to that level, because he's not quite so much on a tight leash anymore, as he is more of a roster lock for the next three seasons.

His new contract is extremely low on the bonus end, especially for his caliber of player, so there wasn't much of a change. Don't have exact number as I'm at work right now, but I can update this later.

Week 10-13, 2013

Jaguars @ Titans: Jacksonville came in to Nashville off a Bye Week with high hopes and came out swinging, but Tennessee stamped out any hopes early, Tennessee wins 37-10. Jake Locker split the spotlight with Jason McCourty through this game. Locker throwing 22/34 for 268 yards and a TD. McCourty pulled a pair of interceptions his way, taking one back to the house. Smash and Dash paired for 111 yards and a TD, with Shonn Greene pulling the heaviest of the load. 7-2.

Colts @ Titans: Division rival Indianapolis roll into Nashville hoping the close the gap on the lead for the division, but the Titans unleashed all they had offensively to rout the Colts, 34-13. Jake Locker lead the offensive attack going 23/27, 317 yards and 3 TDs. Chris Johnson also had a great game, dashing for 124 yards on 18 carries, and a receiving TD. Justin Hunter snatched 7 passes for 103 yards and a TD. 8-2.

Titans @ Raiders: Tennessee rolled into battle against the worst team in the league (1-9) expecting to cruise to an easy W. Unfortunately, by the end of the 3rd, it was tied 13-13. The Titans came out firing in the 4th to ensure victory. Shonn Greene tearing for 138 yards, average 9.2 through the game surely helped push the Titans over the edge for a 29-13 win. 9-2

Titans @ Colts: The Titans landed in Indy riding a 9 game win streak after dropping the first two games of the season and looked to continue the streak going into the 2nd quarter with a 13-7 lead. Indy changed that in a hurry, with a quick pick 6. A couple drives later and Ahmed Bradshaw did his part for the Colts, returning a punt 73 yards for a touchdown. By the 3rd quarter all the momentum was behind the Colts, who took off ending the game 41-16. Tennessee drops to a still respectable 9-3.

Post Season Q3 Thoughts:
I'm utterly shocked the team has performed this well. With Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene pairing for a great backfield, and Jake Locker leading the league in completion percentage, this team is performing very well. The Titans are also league leaders in 3rd down efficiency, explaining a lot of how these wins are piling on. On the defensive side, Tennessee is maintaining a smothering Pass Defense, a top 10 team in pass defense, despite Sophomore Andrew Luck airing it out for nearly 300 yards in the previous game. The Titans front 7 are affecting the QB on almost 30% of passing plays, allowing the Secondaries time to recover any missteps shadowing opponents receivers. Middle of the pack as far as rushing defense. I must admit, I did not expect a Playoff birth in the first season, but the Titans are one win away from being a lock for at least a Wildcard in the AFC, also currently leading the AFC South, with only the Houston "Arian Foster's" close enough to take over the Division by the end of the Regular Season. Tennessee looks to be in place for the Division win though, facing the lowly Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals before season end, unfortunately we play the top two team in the AFC besides ourselves, Denver Broncos and Houston. We'll see where our luck takes us.

Around The League:
- Arian Foster is dominating the league, on pace for 2250 yards rushing and facing some of the worst Rush Defenses in the NFL these final weeks. Hopefully we can see some early history of this league made, just not against us.
- Russell Wilson has fallen off the radar due to various injuries of key players in the offense, although Eli Manning and Matt Stafford are both on pace for 5000 yard seasons.
- Titans QB Jake Locker is leading the league in completion percentage and 3rd down efficiency.
- Larry Fitzgerald is currently in first for the Receiving title, but nothing groundbreaking

WEEK 14-17, 2013

Titans @ Broncos: The top two teams in the AFC duke it out in a surprisingly defensive battle. At halftime the score was 7-6 in favor of Denver. Locker and Manning are pretty even and both are having trouble stringing together solid drives. Coming out of halftime Peyton was sure to show Tennessee that despite no longer leading the Colts, he could still whoop the Titans when he needed to. In spite of Tennessee holding Denver to a total of 27 yards rushing, Peyton was able to air the ball for 285 yards and two TDs. Broncos get the win, 17-6. 9-4.

Cardinals @ Titans: Titans come out with back-to-back losses fresh on their mind. Arizona was well aware of this as well and hoped to gain momentum against the Titans, scoring out of the gate. Jake Locker didn't take kindly to that went on a tear, passing for 3 TDs and 224 yards. Tennessee's defense attacked the Cardinals backfield at each opportunity, forcing and recovering two fumbles and picking off Carson Palmer twice. Scoreboard stopped at 42-10, Titans. 10-4

Titans @ Jaguars: Jaguars look to defend at home against Tennessee's efficient offense. Shonn Greene showed his immense red zone ability for two TD's, while only gaining 14 yards rushing on the day. Jake Locker went 15/23 for 171 yards to push the Titans to the win. 11-4

Texans @ Titans: Tennessee looked to prove a point in this game, facing the leagues leading rusher in Arian Foster, who already had 2036 yards rushing on the season. Chris Johnson came out firing, showing Foster who the better back was, dashing for a total of 158 yards, on 7.2 YPC and an astounding 3 rushing TDs and an 18 yard receiving TD. Shonn Greene also throw his name in the hat holding 58 of his own on 9.7 YPC. Besides Dash, Tennessee's defense was the star picking off Matt Schaub twice, and holding Foster to a sub 100 yard game. Titans win 28-21. 12-4

Post Season Q4 Thoughts:
Color me surprised. 12-4. AFC South Champs. I can't believe it. Jake Locker is the most efficient QB in the league in every category except the Red Zone, still top 5 there, and TD/INT rate. Chris Johnson has the most YPC in the league, and could have easily had another 2000 yard season had he been giving the needed touches. Shonn Greene is a very capable situation back. As a rookie, Justin Hunter led the team with 84 catches and 847 yards. Jason McCourty tied for the most INTs in the league. I think it's worthwhile to note, while Jake Locker is the most efficient QB as far as completions and conversions, he ended the year 18 TDs/16 INTs. I blissfully optimistic heading into the playoffs. Speaking of, we were unable to secure a first round bye, those spots taken by Denver and New England. So, we play our good friends up the road in Indy in the first round.

Around The League:
- Big news is that Arian Foster ended the season with 2141 yards on the ground, with a mind-boggling 5.72 YPC. Put the Texans on his back and willed them into the playoffs
- Eli Manning and Matt Stafford battled for the Passing Yardage crown, but Eli pulled it out, ending with 5171 yards in the air.
- Big surprise is that Jaguar rookie WR Justin Blackmon snatched the Receiving Yardage crown with 1657

WILDCARD ROUND, 2013

- Houston Texans (WC 10-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (AFCN Champs 8-8)
The shining star of this game was Texans veteran WR Andre Johnson who ended the game with 143 yards and 1 TD on 5 catches and 7 targets. This is very surprising that Houston avoided using Foster, opting the air the ball out with Matt Schaub then use the leagues best rusher. Foster ended the game with 77 yards and 1 TD on 23 touches, notably less than during the season. Perhaps attempting to keep him fresh as the Coaches were obviously already looking ahead to the first round bye team Denver Broncos. Cincinnati basically gave the game away as QB Josh Johnson threw 3 INTs, forcing Bengals coaches to bench him in favor of learning Sophomore QB Andy Dalton. Texans win 32-7. Texans advance to face the Denver Broncos.

- Indianapolis Colts (WC 8-8) at Tennessee Titans(AFCS Champs 12-4)
Who would have thought coming into this season that the Titans would be AFC South Champs, and hosting the Colts in the Wildcard round? Yet here we are. This game turned into an absolute shootout between Andrew Luck and Jake Locker, both turning in great playoff performances. Jake Locker threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns finding receivers all over. Andrew Luck certainly took note, showing out on his own for 356 yard and a trio of TDs of his own. But, despite on being actually sacked once, Titans defense pressured Andrew Luck into one bad throw, allowing Alterraun Verner to snatch and INT and take it back a long 98 yards for a TD. Colts WR T.Y. Hilton pulled in 9 catches for 116 yards. Chris Johnson also piped up with 89 yards and a rushing TD to his name. Titans win 44-24 and advance to face the New England Patriots.

- Minnesota Vikings (WC 10-6) at New York Giants (NFCE Champs 11-5)
In New York we see two very different style of offenses facing off. The hard-nosed Minnesota Vikings are powered by veteran RB Adrian Peterson, opposite of him are the Giants and slinging QB Eli Manning. Peterson was leaned on heavily, collecting 35 carries, earning himself 154 yards, in his best attempt to pull the Vikings to victory. Eli Manning obliterated the Vikings defense, passing for 415 yards, finding the endzone twice, but also giving up one INT. Vikings K Blair Walsh stretched his leg, nailing five FGs during the game. Victor Cruz did his best salsa dance after his late touchdown to add to his astounding 205 yards. New York pulled away with the win 22-15, New York advances to face Green Bay

- Seattle Seahawks (WC 11-5) at New Orleans Saints (AFCS Champs 9-7)
Seattle comes in heavily favored in this game, mostly due to the amazing QB play in rookie Russell Wilson and the Seahawk's stout defense. Playing on the road Russell Wilson passed for 262 yards and 3 TDs. Marshawn Lynch stumbled for 62 yards. Seattle's defense also picked off Drew Brees once. Unfortunately, Seattle couldn't stop Drew Brees the rest of the game who took over and threw for 339 and 5 TDs. The underdog Saints take the victory 37-23 and advance to face San Francisco.

Post Wildcard Round Thoughts

I can't believe it. A playoff win, against the Colts nonetheless. The Titans are looking very strong, but at this point I expect nothing and I'm very proud and surprised at everyone's performances. Heading into Foxboro, in the playoffs, and leaving with a win will be very difficult. Looking ahead, while I love how far this team has gone, I find myself half hoping we drop a game soon as I don't believe we can will the Super Bowl, and at this point we're just losing draft positions that are desperately needed to complete this rebuild. Thankfully, this team isn't as incompetent as I believed at the beginning of this season, so I should be able to make use of many player I thought would need replacing.

CONFERENCE SEMIFINAL ROUND, 2013

- Houston Texans (WC 11-6) at Denver Broncos (AFCW Champs 13-3)
Short answer to this game, Denver shut league leading rusher Arian Foster down. 19 yards on 14 carries. Meanwhile, Montee Ball took off for 109. Manning torched for 305 and 3 TDs going 33/22. Denver win 30-10 and advances to winner of us and New England.

- New Orleans Saints (NFCS Champs 10-7) at San Francisco 49ers (NFCW Champs 12-4)
Drew Brees does his best to fight for the win tossing for 225 and 2 TDs, Saints defense also picked out Kaepernick once while shutting him down. Kaepernick threw for 116, 2 TDs and 1 INT. The big playmaker for the game was 49ers rookie RB Marcus Lattimore, dashing for 116 himself. 49ers Kicker Phil Dawson nailed 4/4 to push the 49ers to 33-14, advancing to the winner of New York Giants and Green Bay Packers.

- New York Giants (NFCE Champs 12-5) at Green Bay Packers (NFCN Champs 12-4)
Aaron Rodgers is the major point of this game, a total non-factor throwing for 125, 1 TD, and 1 INT on 19/30 passing. Giants defense flexed their muscles holding the Packers to just 254 yards total. On the other side, the Giants gained yards almost at will through the air as Eli Manning threw for 319 yards and two TDs. Unfortunately Eli also gave away two picks and a fumble. Somehow, despite the offense being nullified, Green Bay came out on top 27-20, and advance to face the 49ers.

- Tennessee Titans (AFCS Champs 13-4) at New England Patriots (AFCE Champs 13-3)
The Titans come into Foxboro, MA late on a Sunday in January. They are in the midst of an out of nowhere Cinderella season similar to 2008, hoping for better this time around in a David and Goliath-esque game against perennial contending Patriots and Tom Brady. The Patriots come out firing on the opening drive going 80 yards in 7 plays, capped off by a TD by RB Leon Washington. Titans receive the ball and come out for their first possession looking to make a mark early. Sadly, they are held to 3 yards and are forced to punt. Patriots put a choke hold on Tennessee by marching 69 yards in just 4 plays to score on a 19 yard pass to Leon Washington. Tom Brady is looking god-like at this point, and the game is getting out of hand in the first quarter, currently 14-0. Staring at a possible rout, Jake Locker put his foot down, launching multiple passes to Justin Hunter for 19 and 25 yards. Chris Johnson pushed for yardage anywhere he could. 13 plays and 84 yards later, Rob Bironas lines himself up to break the ice. Mr Automatic nails a 23 yard chip shot. 14-3. Both New England's and the Titan's next drives faulter, punting away. This puts New England starting at mid field, gaining a pair of first downs and earning 3 points for Stephan Gostkowski. 17-3. Looking at just over 5 mins left in the half Jake Locker seized the moment forcing his team downfield and tossing a TD pass to Justin Hunter to notch it at 17-10. Tom Brady puts on his best 2 minute drill and gets in field goal range to let Gostkowski put it at 20-10 going into the half. First drive out of the half, Titans WR Kenny Britt takes a short 5 yard pass 25 more yards. Locker then finds Shonn Greene for his second TD pass of the game, 20-17. Tom Brady's next drive stutters and forces Gostkowski to attempt a 50 yarder, who lines up kicks it... Straight down the middle, 23-17. Titans struggle for one third down conversion, then face a second, not looking confident. On 3rd and 7 they hand it Chris Johnson who cuts back and breaks out from just past midfield for a 52 yard touchdown to put Tennessee up with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, 24-23. Tom Brady looks really hot on this drive, but two drops in a row forces a punt, pinning Tennessee on thier 9. Tennessee quickly 3 and outs back to New England, but the punt is crushed and muffed, New England recovers but lost the gained field position. Both teams slow early in the fourth, punting. The Patriots eventually march to set up a go-ahead 45 yard FG, with 8 minutes left in the 4th. Gostkowski lines up.... and just short of the cross-bar, wind caught it. Tennessee takes advantage of the field position setting up a 37 yard FG. Bironas lines up... and nails it, 27-23 Titans. Tom Brady gets the ball with 6 minutes left in the 4th, but in a rare moment fails to get a single pass completed, forcing a punt. With a little over 5 minutes left in the game, and looking to burn clock, Shonn Greene spells in for CJ2K, and slowly pushes 71 yards downfield and slams in on a goal line run leaving 1:58 on the clock. 33-23. With the game seemingly out of reach, Brady desperately reaches down field to no avail, clock strikes 00:00. Titans win in Foxboro 33-23. Justin Hunter put his mark on this game, ending with 149 yards receiving and a TD. Locker kept stride for stride with Brady, Locker ended with 280 on 19/32 passing and a pair of TDs. Titans advance against all odds to face an old rival in Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

Post Conference SemiFinal Thoughts:
I'm dumbfounded. Our defense looks sturdy, forcing multiple 3 and outs. Justin Hunter is looking like a young Randy Moss, pulling in 5+ catches while being double covered. Chris Johnson is still booming them in from mid field. I don't know what to expect at this point, but I must admit, I'm so very happy I re-signed CJ2K, who shattered all momentum with that 52 yard TD.

Coach Munchak pulled Locker after one drive (3/4 28 yards) and let Veteran Fitzpatrick finish the game, rumors are flying. 0-1. Titans @ Texans: Playing division rivals is never easy, especially when on the road. Texans RB Arian Foster scorched the Titans D to the tune of 220 yards and 2 TDs on 28 attempts leading the Texans to a blow out 26-6 win over the Titans. Munchak pulled Locker again after 2 drives, going 5 for 10, this time for the other young QB, Rusty Smith. I have sat Coach Munchak down and had a lengthy conversation on the topic, but I don't see any good things coming out of any of this. Number one focus in the next draft is a franchise QB. Injury Report Notables: Starting CB Alterraun Verner out for 4 week with a pulled groin, starting FS Michael Griffin out for 2 week with a sprained knee. 0-2 Chargers @ Titans: Jake Locker shows a ton of promise in his first full game this season, leading the Titans to a 33-10 win over the Chargers. Jake posted a 20/31 262 2 TD game with 0 INTs, helping young WR Kenny Britt to a 6 Catch, 77 yard game. Rob Bironas is also 100% on the year through 12 FGs, with 5 being for 50+ yards, absolute monster so far. 1-2 Jets @ Titans: Jets fought hard but drop the ball against the Titans late in the 4th, Titans win 24-19. Rookie WR Justin Hunter posted a top-teir game, with 11 Catches for 106 yards and a pair of TDs. Titans have also brought back a Smash and Dash gameplan for their RBs Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene, posting 148 yards and a TD between the pair. 2-2 Post Season Q1 Thoughts: Most importantly, QB Jake Locker has played decent, respectable football. He's not the next Peyton Manning, but he gets the job done. Rob Bironas is a damn machine, so far he is 100% on the year with 7 coming from 40+, he may be worth the hefty price tag coming soon. Rookie WR is on pace for a 80 Catch, 800 Yard rookie season debut, which bodes very well for him. If Smash and Dash were one player, they would be ranked second in rush yards so far, with a ridiculous 7.3 yard per attempt average. SS Bernard Pollard is leading the team, and 2nd in the NFL with 37 tackles, this really bothers me, and I'm not sure Im happy about this. Around The League: -Rookie Seattle QB Russell Wilson is on pace for a 52 Passing TD season with 13 through four games. -Two star RBs, Texans Arian Foster and Eagles breakout LeSean McCoy are both on track for 2000 yard seasons, posting 586 and 503 respectively. -DE Cameron Wake out of Miami is leading the sack column with 6. RB Chris Johnson had a decent game with 88 Yards on 24 carries with a TD. Locker once again played the game manager role throwing 18/26, but no TDs or INTs. A solid nominee for MVP of the game was Rob Bironas going 5/5, with two coming from 40+. Titans Defense force one fumble and one interception holding the Chiefs to 183 Yards total offensively. 3-2. Titans @ Seahawks: An absolute edge of the seat nailbiter out of Seattle tonight, coming down to an interception return for a TD in overtime! Final, 32-23 Titans. The biggest, most astounding stat is that Tennessee's pass defense, with budding star CB Verner cleared from his pulled groin, practically shut down the league leading passer in Seattle's Russell Wilson. Through 4 and a half quarters they held Wilson to 24/28, 265 yards and a touchdown, but picked him off three times, once for the win in overtime. Titans RB Chris Johnson also had a great night going 151 yards on 19 carries, breaking a highlight reel 62 yarder for a touchdown early in the 4th. Jake Locker had a decent game going 28/37 271 yards and a touchdown, but almost threw the game with a late interception. Lastly, Rob Bironas was, once again, automatic, going 4/4 with one from 44 yards out. 4-2 49ers @ Titans: Tennessee pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back, taking the win from the previously undefeated 49ers, 27-14. Biggest play of the game was a kickoff returned 103 yards for a TD by S George Wilson. It was a pretty pedestrian game, stat-wise. Locker going 19/27 for 172 yards, Smash and Dash combo mounting up for 131 yards and a TD. Titans defense forced and recovered 3 fumbles, shutting down the 49ers offensive drives. 5-2. Injury Report: CB Alterraun Verner out for 4 weeks with a severe wrist sprain. BYE WEEK Titans @ Rams: St. Louis came out strong, but immediately faltered to the Titans multi-faceted offense, letting the Titans leave with the win, 24-6. RB Chris Johnson had a standout game having 126 yards from scrimmage, as well as 1 receiving TD. Jake Locker had a very good game himself, throwing 26/31, 261 yards, and 2 TDs. 6-2. Post Season Q2 Thoughts: Somehow, despite our lacking roster, we find ourselves in the midst of a possibly great season. This is taking me by surprise, but at the same time e have many weapons on offense. Though few, if any, of those weapons are elite. It seems if one falters someone is always there is pick up the slack. We are playing a lot like the Kansas City Chiefs of last year, great team play and a game managing QB leads to wins. I believe we can keep this win streak going heading into the second half of this season. Stat-wise, Locker is performing like a top-tier QB with a QBR of 93.7 right now. Couple that win Smash and Dash on track for a 2200 yard season combined, and a rookie WR on track for 1000 yards on 100 catches and you've got yourself a deadly offense. An absolutely automatic Kicker in Rob Bironas sure does help, going 24/24 with a season long of 54. On the opposite side of the ball there are fewer breakout players, but as a whole the Titans defense affects opposing QBs on 21% of their drop backs, although mostly hurries and knockdowns. CB Jason McCourty is tied for 2nd most Interceptions currently at 5, taking two back for TDs. Around The League: - Rookie QB Russell Wilson has slowed his pace a bit, but is still on track for an amazing season. If he keeps this up, he'll end the season with 48 TDs, 5200 yards, and 22 INTs. Current QBR of 103.0. - Three RBs, Texans Arian Foster, Eagles LeSean McCoy, and Vikings Adrian Peterson, are set to break the 2000 yards rushing mark. They are on track to hit 2292 yards, 2052, and 2046 yards rushing, respectively. Arian Foster has also played one less game that the other two, but still leads in every category. - With Russell Wilson having to throw the ball somewhere, WR Percy Harvin is racking up receiving yards, already breaking out for 1052 at the halfway point of the season. - Rob Bironas is currently leading the league in FG made, nailing 24. - DE for Miami Cameron Wake, and Cincinatti DE Michael Johnson are tied at 11 sacks a piece. However, you've upped the bonus in renegotiating, so he's going to cost $6.25M in cap space + whatever original bonus he had on his first deal for each of his 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th seasons. Jake Locker split the spotlight with Jason McCourty through this game. Locker throwing 22/34 for 268 yards and a TD. McCourty pulled a pair of interceptions his way, taking one back to the house. Smash and Dash paired for 111 yards and a TD, with Shonn Greene pulling the heaviest of the load. 7-2. Colts @ Titans: Division rival Indianapolis roll into Nashville hoping the close the gap on the lead for the division, but the Titans unleashed all they had offensively to rout the Colts, 34-13. Jake Locker lead the offensive attack going 23/27, 317 yards and 3 TDs. Chris Johnson also had a great game, dashing for 124 yards on 18 carries, and a receiving TD. Justin Hunter snatched 7 passes for 103 yards and a TD. 8-2. Titans @ Raiders: Tennessee rolled into battle against the worst team in the league (1-9) expecting to cruise to an easy W. Unfortunately, by the end of the 3rd, it was tied 13-13. The Titans came out firing in the 4th to ensure victory. Shonn Greene tearing for 138 yards, average 9.2 through the game surely helped push the Titans over the edge for a 29-13 win. 9-2 Titans @ Colts: The Titans landed in Indy riding a 9 game win streak after dropping the first two games of the season and looked to continue the streak going into the 2nd quarter with a 13-7 lead. Indy changed that in a hurry, with a quick pick 6. A couple drives later and Ahmed Bradshaw did his part for the Colts, returning a punt 73 yards for a touchdown. By the 3rd quarter all the momentum was behind the Colts, who took off ending the game 41-16. Tennessee drops to a still respectable 9-3. Post Season Q3 Thoughts: I'm utterly shocked the team has performed this well. With Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene pairing for a great backfield, and Jake Locker leading the league in completion percentage, this team is performing very well. The Titans are also league leaders in 3rd down efficiency, explaining a lot of how these wins are piling on. On the defensive side, Tennessee is maintaining a smothering Pass Defense, a top 10 team in pass defense, despite Sophomore Andrew Luck airing it out for nearly 300 yards in the previous game. The Titans front 7 are affecting the QB on almost 30% of passing plays, allowing the Secondaries time to recover any missteps shadowing opponents receivers. Middle of the pack as far as rushing defense. I must admit, I did not expect a Playoff birth in the first season, but the Titans are one win away from being a lock for at least a Wildcard in the AFC, also currently leading the AFC South, with only the Houston "Arian Foster's" close enough to take over the Division by the end of the Regular Season. Tennessee looks to be in place for the Division win though, facing the lowly Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals before season end, unfortunately we play the top two team in the AFC besides ourselves, Denver Broncos and Houston. We'll see where our luck takes us. Around The League: - Arian Foster is dominating the league, on pace for 2250 yards rushing and facing some of the worst Rush Defenses in the NFL these final weeks. Locker and Manning are pretty even and both are having trouble stringing together solid drives. Coming out of halftime Peyton was sure to show Tennessee that despite no longer leading the Colts, he could still whoop the Titans when he needed to. In spite of Tennessee holding Denver to a total of 27 yards rushing, Peyton was able to air the ball for 285 yards and two TDs. Broncos get the win, 17-6. 9-4. Cardinals @ Titans: Titans come out with back-to-back losses fresh on their mind. Arizona was well aware of this as well and hoped to gain momentum against the Titans, scoring out of the gate. Jake Locker didn't take kindly to that went on a tear, passing for 3 TDs and 224 yards. Tennessee's defense attacked the Cardinals backfield at each opportunity, forcing and recovering two fumbles and picking off Carson Palmer twice. Scoreboard stopped at 42-10, Titans. 10-4 Titans @ Jaguars: Jaguars look to defend at home against Tennessee's efficient offense. Shonn Greene showed his immense red zone ability for two TD's, while only gaining 14 yards rushing on the day. Jake Locker went 15/23 for 171 yards to push the Titans to the win. 11-4 Texans @ Titans: Tennessee looked to prove a point in this game, facing the leagues leading rusher in Arian Foster, who already had 2036 yards rushing on the season. Chris Johnson came out firing, showing Foster who the better back was, dashing for a total of 158 yards, on 7.2 YPC and an astounding 3 rushing TDs and an 18 yard receiving TD. Shonn Greene also throw his name in the hat holding 58 of his own on 9.7 YPC. Besides Dash, Tennessee's defense was the star picking off Matt Schaub twice, and holding Foster to a sub 100 yard game. Titans win 28-21. 12-4 Post Season Q4 Thoughts: Color me surprised. 12-4. AFC South Champs. I can't believe it. Jake Locker is the most efficient QB in the league in every category except the Red Zone, still top 5 there, and TD/INT rate. Chris Johnson has the most YPC in the league, and could have easily had another 2000 yard season had he been giving the needed touches. Shonn Greene is a very capable situation back. As a rookie, Justin Hunter led the team with 84 catches and 847 yards. Jason McCourty tied for the most INTs in the league. I think it's worthwhile to note, while Jake Locker is the most efficient QB as far as completions and conversions, he ended the year 18 TDs/16 INTs. I blissfully optimistic heading into the playoffs. Speaking of, we were unable to secure a first round bye, those spots taken by Denver and New England. So, we play our good friends up the road in Indy in the first round. Around The League: - Big news is that Arian Foster ended the season with 2141 yards on the ground, with a mind-boggling 5.72 YPC. Well, today marks the first move in the chess match that is the NFL. After a very long conversation with Xavier Ellison, agent for RB Chris Johnson, and the running back himself, there has been a major change in his contract. Chris has signed a fresh re-negotiated 4 year, $25 million contract, spread evenly over each year. This is a vast drop from his previous 4 year, $48 million contract, saving the team $4m in cap space over the life of the contract. ESPN and Sport Writers everywhere are scrambling to cover the news, so far in good light. This is the first good PR the team has had in a long time. On the heels of the headline making news, we are heading into our first preseason game. I'm keeping a keen eye on budding stars in our rookie WR Justin Hunter, and 3rd year DT Jurrell Casey. Also, the major position battle at QB between Jake Locker and Rusty Smith. Currently the team is middle of the pack in power rankings, 17th. Redskins @ Titans: Titans held steady through a high scoring 4th quarter to win 37-20. We pulled an early lead due to a Derrick Morgan(DE) 77 yard interception return for TD. Other noteworthy stats, sacked Redskins QB a whopping 7 times. 1-0. Titans @ Bengals: Titans Kicker Rob Bironas nails a last second kick to win 15-14. Posted great offensive numbers, but had two drives cut short due to fumbles. Rusty Smith leads the final drive to within field goal range. Bironas shines as he kicks 5/5 with a long of 58 as he is the only source of scoring the entire game. 2-0. Falcons @ Titans: Rob Bironas is earning every penny of his paycheck as he goes 6/6 leading the Titans to a 25-17 victory, MVP Alert. Both Locker and Smith throw for better than 65%, going to be tough battle. Injury Update: Starting CB Alterraun Verner left the game with a broken nose, is probable for next weeks game. 3-0. Titans @ Minnesota: Vikings Defense comes up with 3 turnovers, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble to trump the Titans 30-14. Rusty Smith 15/34, 223 Yds, 1 TD, 2 INTs while Locker went 8/9 80 Yds, 0 TD, 0 INT. The decision has been made on the starting QB. 3-1. Checking over the preseason stats, it's obvious Locker has won the starting job at QB, as expected, but I don't believe he will be the face of our franchise. Unexpectedly, our defense performed fairly well coming up with 3 INTs returned for touchdowns. I shouldn't even have to mention team voted MVP Rob Bironas and his 16/16 preseason. Heading into season, I am optimistically hopeful for a 9-7 with a playoff appearance. We have few holes in our team, but they are huge. QB, a weak RT, and a young linebacking corps will be our weakness this year. On the other hand, our defensive line has shown it's ability to be downright dominate. With all this in mind, let's get this show on the road.

Jmo2909 n00b Join Date: Aug 2014	WILDCARD ROUND, 2013 - Houston Texans (WC 10-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (AFCN Champs 8-8) The shining star of this game was Texans veteran WR Andre Johnson who ended the game with 143 yards and 1 TD on 5 catches and 7 targets. This is very surprising that Houston avoided using Foster, opting the air the ball out with Matt Schaub then use the leagues best rusher. Foster ended the game with 77 yards and 1 TD on 23 touches, notably less than during the season. Perhaps attempting to keep him fresh as the Coaches were obviously already looking ahead to the first round bye team Denver Broncos. Cincinnati basically gave the game away as QB Josh Johnson threw 3 INTs, forcing Bengals coaches to bench him in favor of learning Sophomore QB Andy Dalton. Texans win 32-7. Texans advance to face the Denver Broncos. - Indianapolis Colts (WC 8-8) at Tennessee Titans(AFCS Champs 12-4) Who would have thought coming into this season that the Titans would be AFC South Champs, and hosting the Colts in the Wildcard round? Yet here we are. This game turned into an absolute shootout between Andrew Luck and Jake Locker, both turning in great playoff performances. Jake Locker threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns finding receivers all over. Andrew Luck certainly took note, showing out on his own for 356 yard and a trio of TDs of his own. But, despite on being actually sacked once, Titans defense pressured Andrew Luck into one bad throw, allowing Alterraun Verner to snatch and INT and take it back a long 98 yards for a TD. Colts WR T.Y. Hilton pulled in 9 catches for 116 yards. Chris Johnson also piped up with 89 yards and a rushing TD to his name. Titans win 44-24 and advance to face the New England Patriots. - Minnesota Vikings (WC 10-6) at New York Giants (NFCE Champs 11-5) In New York we see two very different style of offenses facing off. The hard-nosed Minnesota Vikings are powered by veteran RB Adrian Peterson, opposite of him are the Giants and slinging QB Eli Manning. Peterson was leaned on heavily, collecting 35 carries, earning himself 154 yards, in his best attempt to pull the Vikings to victory. Eli Manning obliterated the Vikings defense, passing for 415 yards, finding the endzone twice, but also giving up one INT. Vikings K Blair Walsh stretched his leg, nailing five FGs during the game. Victor Cruz did his best salsa dance after his late touchdown to add to his astounding 205 yards. New York pulled away with the win 22-15, New York advances to face Green Bay - Seattle Seahawks (WC 11-5) at New Orleans Saints (AFCS Champs 9-7) Seattle comes in heavily favored in this game, mostly due to the amazing QB play in rookie Russell Wilson and the Seahawk's stout defense. Playing on the road Russell Wilson passed for 262 yards and 3 TDs. Marshawn Lynch stumbled for 62 yards. Seattle's defense also picked off Drew Brees once. Unfortunately, Seattle couldn't stop Drew Brees the rest of the game who took over and threw for 339 and 5 TDs. The underdog Saints take the victory 37-23 and advance to face San Francisco. Post Wildcard Round Thoughts I can't believe it. A playoff win, against the Colts nonetheless. The Titans are looking very strong, but at this point I expect nothing and I'm very proud and surprised at everyone's performances. Heading into Foxboro, in the playoffs, and leaving with a win will be very difficult. Looking ahead, while I love how far this team has gone, I find myself half hoping we drop a game soon as I don't believe we can will the Super Bowl, and at this point we're just losing draft positions that are desperately needed to complete this rebuild. Thankfully, this team isn't as incompetent as I believed at the beginning of this season, so I should be able to make use of many player I thought would need replacing. Meanwhile, Montee Ball took off for 109. Manning torched for 305 and 3 TDs going 33/22. Denver win 30-10 and advances to winner of us and New England. - New Orleans Saints (NFCS Champs 10-7) at San Francisco 49ers (NFCW Champs 12-4) Drew Brees does his best to fight for the win tossing for 225 and 2 TDs, Saints defense also picked out Kaepernick once while shutting him down. Kaepernick threw for 116, 2 TDs and 1 INT. The big playmaker for the game was 49ers rookie RB Marcus Lattimore, dashing for 116 himself. 49ers Kicker Phil Dawson nailed 4/4 to push the 49ers to 33-14, advancing to the winner of New York Giants and Green Bay Packers. - New York Giants (NFCE Champs 12-5) at Green Bay Packers (NFCN Champs 12-4) Aaron Rodgers is the major point of this game, a total non-factor throwing for 125, 1 TD, and 1 INT on 19/30 passing. Giants defense flexed their muscles holding the Packers to just 254 yards total. On the other side, the Giants gained yards almost at will through the air as Eli Manning threw for 319 yards and two TDs. Unfortunately Eli also gave away two picks and a fumble. Somehow, despite the offense being nullified, Green Bay came out on top 27-20, and advance to face the 49ers. - Tennessee Titans (AFCS Champs 13-4) at New England Patriots (AFCE Champs 13-3) The Titans come into Foxboro, MA late on a Sunday in January. They are in the midst of an out of nowhere Cinderella season similar to 2008, hoping for better this time around in a David and Goliath-esque game against perennial contending Patriots and Tom Brady. The Patriots come out firing on the opening drive going 80 yards in 7 plays, capped off by a TD by RB Leon Washington. Titans receive the ball and come out for their first possession looking to make a mark early. Sadly, they are held to 3 yards and are forced to punt. Patriots put a choke hold on Tennessee by marching 69 yards in just 4 plays to score on a 19 yard pass to Leon Washington. Tom Brady is looking god-like at this point, and the game is getting out of hand in the first quarter, currently 14-0. Staring at a possible rout, Jake Locker put his foot down, launching multiple passes to Justin Hunter for 19 and 25 yards. Chris Johnson pushed for yardage anywhere he could. 13 plays and 84 yards later, Rob Bironas lines himself up to break the ice. Mr Automatic nails a 23 yard chip shot. 14-3. Both New England's and the Titan's next drives faulter, punting away. This puts New England starting at mid field, gaining a pair of first downs and earning 3 points for Stephan Gostkowski. 17-3. Looking at just over 5 mins left in the half Jake Locker seized the moment forcing his team downfield and tossing a TD pass to Justin Hunter to notch it at 17-10. Tom Brady puts on his best 2 minute drill and gets in field goal range to let Gostkowski put it at 20-10 going into the half. First drive out of the half, Titans WR Kenny Britt takes a short 5 yard pass 25 more yards. Locker then finds Shonn Greene for his second TD pass of the game, 20-17. Tom Brady's next drive stutters and forces Gostkowski to attempt a 50 yarder, who lines up kicks it... Straight down the middle, 23-17. Titans struggle for one third down conversion, then face a second, not looking confident. On 3rd and 7 they hand it Chris Johnson who cuts back and breaks out from just past midfield for a 52 yard touchdown to put Tennessee up with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, 24-23. Tom Brady looks really hot on this drive, but two drops in a row forces a punt, pinning Tennessee on thier 9. Tennessee quickly 3 and outs back to New England, but the punt is crushed and muffed, New England recovers but lost the gained field position. Both teams slow early in the fourth, punting. The Patriots eventually march to set up a go-ahead 45 yard FG, with 8 minutes left in the 4th. Gostkowski lines up.... and just short of the cross-bar, wind caught it. Tennessee takes advantage of the field position setting up a 37 yard FG. Bironas lines up... and nails it, 27-23 Titans. Tom Brady gets the ball with 6 minutes left in the 4th, but in a rare moment fails to get a single pass completed, forcing a punt. With a little over 5 minutes left in the game, and looking to burn clock, Shonn Greene spells in for CJ2K, and slowly pushes 71 yards downfield and slams in on a goal line run leaving 1:58 on the clock. 33-23. With the game seemingly out of reach, Brady desperately reaches down field to no avail, clock strikes 00:00. Titans win in Foxboro 33-23. Justin Hunter put his mark on this game, ending with 149 yards receiving and a TD. Locker kept stride for stride with Brady, Locker ended with 280 on 19/32 passing and a pair of TDs. Titans advance against all odds to face an old rival in Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Post Conference SemiFinal Thoughts: I'm dumbfounded. Our defense looks sturdy, forcing multiple 3 and outs. Justin Hunter is looking like a young Randy Moss, pulling in 5+ catches while being double covered. Chris Johnson is still booming them in from mid field.
