Nice win versus Notre Dame, but too little, too late for Kuji Chagulia, I think. 12-15 just ain't gonna cut in in Louisville. St. John might have a little leeway at Cal Poly, but B.B. is probably on his way out at Hawaii as well. The Warriors should have been doing better by now. Not a good season for my guys.

2 feature games this week, and we start in the Northeast.

3/2/17- Northeast First Round, (8) Bryant (Score Galore) vs. (1) Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- It looked like it was going to be dejavu for the Hawks, who trailed by 8 at halftime. They turned up the defense in the second half though, hitting a buzzer beater to force overtime, in which they totally dominated the overtime period and moved on in the Northeast Tournament.

Final Score: (1) Monmouth- 75, (8) Bryant- 66 (OT)

And now we go to the America East.

3/4/17- America East First Round, (6) Maine (Cillian O'Reilly) vs. (3) Hartford (David Ginsberg) -- The good news is that both teams took pretty good care of the ball, but the shooting was absolutely horrendous. The 2 teams combined to go just 4-32 from three point land. However, Maine made more shots overall, and that was enough to lead them to an easy First Round victory.

Final Score: (6) Maine- 66, (3) Hartford- 53

And now the rest of the weekly recap:

Hartford (David Ginsberg) -- 15-15, 10-6 America East.

2/27/17 vs. Quinnipiac (W 59-51).
3/4/17- America East First Round vs. (6) Maine- feature game, highlighted above.

The early round loss in the America East tournament will certainly end the season for the Hawks.

Maine (Cillian O'Reilly) -- 15-16, 7-9 America East.

2/27/17 at Brown (L 72-64).
3/4/17- America East First Round vs. (3) Hartford- feature game, highlighted above.
3/5/17- America East Semifinals vs. (2) Vermont (W 79-68).

Next week is a win or done game for the Black Bears. If they win in the A-East Finals, they'll go to the NCAA Tournament. If they lose, their season is over.

#18 Charlotte (Timmy Tribble) -- 24-6, 13-3 T-1st Atlantic 10.

3/1/17 vs. Fordham (W 75-45).
3/4/17 vs. St. Joseph's (W 58-41).

The 49ers will split the regular season A-10 Title, but lost the tiebreaker and will be the 2nd seed in the A-10 Tourney, getting a bye into the Quarterfinals where they will play the winner between (10) St. Louis/(7) LaSalle.

#22 Boston College (Alex Donovan) -- 21-9, 10-6 T-3rd ACC.

3/1/17 at #25 Duke (L 74-67).
3/4/17 vs. #9 North Carolina (L 91-80).

A bad week for the Eagles, but they win the 3rd place tiebreaker and will be the 3rd seed in the ACC Tournament. They'll get a bye into the Quarterfinals and take on the winner between (11) Virginia/(6) Miami.

Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 10-20, 4-12 T-11th (last) Big 12.

3/1/17 vs. #11 Kansas (W 71-69).
3/4/17 at Kansas State (W 86-57).

Nice week for the Buffaloes, but they still tie for last in the conference. However, they win the tiebreaker and get the 11th seed in the Big 12 Tournament. They'll open up against (6) Kansas.

Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) -- 12-17, 6-12 12th Big East.

3/1/17 vs. Providence (L 71-62).
3/4/17 vs. West Virginia (L 76-72).

The Cardinals will be the 12th seed in the Big East Tourney and open up against a team that just beat them this week, (13) Providence.

Notre Dame (Ernesto Lopez) -- 9-21, 4-14 T-15th (last) Big East.

3/1/17 vs. #15 Syracuse (L 84-61).
3/4/17 at DePaul (L 101-77).

The Fighting Irish weren't really fighters this season, as they lose the tiebreaker and get the 16th seed in the Big East Tournament. They'll open up against (9) St. John's.

High Point (Roy Rogers) -- 15-15, 11-7.

2/28/17- Big South Quarterfinals vs. (5) Radford (L 63-59).

The loss in the Big South Quarters most likely means the end of the season for the Panthers.

Penn State (Tim Sheppard) -- 11-19, 4-14 T-10th (last) Big 10.

3/1/17 vs. Michigan (W 71-59).
3/4/17 at Wisconsin (L 83-68).

The Nittany Lions lose the tiebreaker for 10th place and get the 11th seed in the Big 10 Tournament. They'll open up against (6) Purdue.

Cal Poly (DeShawn St. John) -- 11-18, 8-8 T-4th Big West.

2/28/17 at Cal St. Fullerton (L 65-48).
3/2/17 vs. Long Beach State (W 70-58).

The Mustangs lost the 4th place tiebreaker and will be the 5th seed in the Big West Tournament. They'll open up against (8) Cal St. Fullerton.

UTEP (Jeeber Mack) -- 18-12, 9-7 T-3rd Conference USA.

3/1/17 at Tulsa (L 81-79).
3/4/17 vs. ECU (W 79-55).

The Miners really struggled at the end of the season and lost a 3 way tiebreaker for 3rd place. This means they'll be the 5th seed in the C-USA Tourney and open up against (12) Marshall.

Wright State (Shane Korme) -- 19-12, 12-6 Horizon.

2/28/17- Horizon First Round vs. (10) Cleveland State (L 74-65).

A huge upset, as the Raiders go down. With the 19-12 record, they should still be NIT bound though.

Central Michigan (Cannon Pace) -- 13-16, 8-8 3rd MAC West.

3/1/17 at Ball State (W 72-69, OT).
3/4/17 vs. Toledo (L 65-53).

The Chippewas get the 6th seed in the MAC Tournament and open up against (11) Buffalo.

Norfolk State (Payten Carrano) -- 20-8, 13-3 1st MEAC.

2/27/17 at North Carolina A&T (W 71-70).
3/4/17 vs. Maryland-East Shore (W 91-53).

Congrats to Ms. Carrano, who led the Spartans to the MEAC regular season title this season. They'll be the top seed in the MEAC Tournament and get a bye to the Quarterfinals where they'll open up against the winner of (9) Delaware State/(8) Florida A&M.

Evansville (Ekeje Bafou) -- 8-23, 4-14 MVC.

3/2/17- MVC First Round vs. (7) Wichita State (L 73-57).

Another disastrous season for the Aces comes to an end after a loss in the First Round of the MVC Tournament.

Bryant (Score Galore) -- 10-20, 7-11 Northeast.

3/2/17- Northeast First Round vs. (1) Monmouth- feature game, highlighted above.

The season comes to an end for the Bulldogs, but for the first time ever they get double digit wins in a season, so that could be something to build on.

Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- 19-11, 14-4 Northeast.

3/2/17- Northeast First Round vs. (8) Bryant (W 75-66).
3/5/17- Northeast Semifinals vs. (5) Long Island (W 77-76, OT).

The Hawks are seeing postseason play no matter what. If they win the Northeast title game next week, they'll be in the NCAA Tournament. If they lose, it's NIT.

#17 UCLA (Patrick Hutt) -- 21-8, 12-6 2nd Pac 10.

3/2/17 at Arizona State (W 75-67).
3/4/17 at #7 Arizona (L 55-43).

The Bruins will be the 2nd seed in the Pac 10 Tourney and get a bye into the Quarterfinals where they'll take on the winner of (10) Cal/(7) Arizona State).

Davidson (Randolph Childress) -- 17-16, 9-9 Southern South.

3/3/17- Southern First Round vs. (12) Samford (W 82-75).
3/4/17- Southern Quarterfinals vs. (4) Georgia Southern (W 96-91, OT).
3/5/17- Southern Semifinals vs. (1) Chattanooga (W 73-60).

The Wildcats are just 1 win away from bursting somebody's bubble, as they'll play in the Southern championship next week with an NCAA Tournament berth on the line.

Troy (Brett Hawkins) -- 15-15, 9-9 Sun Belt East.

3/1/17- Sun Belt First Round vs. (10) Florida International (L 67-66).

A bit of an upset loss here, and the Trojans, with their 222 RPI, will almost certainly see their season end here.

Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 16-14, 10-6 T-3rd WAC.

3/2/17 vs. New Mexico State (L 77-75).
3/4/17 at San Jose State (W 71-61).

The Warriors won the 3rd place tiebreaker and will be the 3rd seed in the WAC Tourney, opening up against (6) Louisiana Tech.

Oregon State (Jawouk Bafou) -- 13-16, 6-10 T-7th WAC.

3/2/17 vs. San Jose State (W 82-64).
3/4/17 at Gonzaga (L 87-74).

The Beavers won the 7th place tiebreaker and will be the 7th seed in the WAC Tourney, opening up against (2) Fresno State.

No feature games this week, so let's get to the weekly recap:

Hartford (David Ginsberg) -- 15-15, 10-6 America East.

No games this week for the Hawks.

Maine (Cillian O'Reilly) -- 16-16, 7-9 America East.

3/11/17- America East Championship vs. (4) Stony Brook (W 69-60).

Great run in the America East Tournament for the Black Bears, who earn an NCAA Tournament berth and will most likely be a 15 or 16 seed.

#16 Charlotte (Timmy Tribble) -- 24-7, 13-3 Atlantic 10.

3/10/17- Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals vs. (10) St. Louis (L 83-77).

Shocking loss for the 49ers, but they will still be dancing, just not with as high a seed as they expected.

Boston College (Alex Donovan) -- 21-10, 10-6 ACC.

3/10/17- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (6) Miami (L 71-61).

The Eagles finish the season on a 3 game losing streak, and should still be safely in the NCAA Tournament, but they will certainly see a mid-range seed I would think.

Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 10-21, 4-12 Big 12.

3/8/17- Big 12 First Round vs. (6) #11 Kansas (L 58-52).

Good effort by the Buffaloes, but they will see their season come to an end, a season in which they far, far underachieved.

Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) -- 13-18, 6-12 Big East.

3/7/17- Big East First Round vs. (13) Providence (W 90-58).
3/8/17- Big East Second Round vs. (5) #19 Pitt (L 57-55).

The Cardinals show some life in the conference tournament, but still a very disappointing season as it comes to an end.

Notre Dame (Ernesto Lopez) -- 9-22, 4-14 Big East.

3/7/17- Big East First Round vs. (9) St. John's (L 75-66).

Coach Lopez's first season with the Irish certainly didn't go as expected, and he'll look to regroup next season.

High Point (Roy Rogers) -- 15-15, 11-7 Big South.

No games this week for the Panthers.

Penn State (Tim Sheppard) -- 11-20, 4-14 Big 10.

3/9/17- Big 10 First Round vs. (6) Purdue (L 82-74)

Another FOFC team that had high hopes coming into the season and totally disappointed, the Nittany Lions season their season come to an end.

Cal Poly (DeShawn St. John) -- 12-19, 8-8 Big West.

3/8/17- Big West First Round vs. (8) Cal St. Fullerton (W 77-74, OT).
3/9/17- Big West Second Round vs. (4) Pacific (L 79-54).

The Mustangs' season is over after the Second Round loss in the Big West tourney.

UTEP (Jeeber Mack) -- 18-13, 9-7 Conference USA.

3/8/17- Conference USA First Round vs. (12) Marshall (L 58-57).

An embarrassing loss in the first round and the free fall continues for the Miners, who finish just 4-7 in their last 11 games. With their RPI, at this point it's a question of whether they will even make the postseason. I think they'll slide into the CBI though.

Wright State (Shane Korme) -- 19-12, 12-6 Horizon.

No games this week for the Raiders.

Central Michigan (Cannon Pace) -- 13-17, 8-8 MAC.

3/7/17- MAC First Round vs. (11) Buffalo (L 61-51).

The Chippewas will end their season after the MAC first round loss.

Norfolk State (Payten Carrano) -- 22-9, 13-3 MEAC.

3/9/17- MEAC Quarterfinals vs. (9) Delaware State (W 69-57).
3/10/17- MEAC Semifinals vs. (4) South Carolina State (W 78-70).
3/11/17- MEAC Championship vs. (3) Hampton (L 73-53).

A great first season for Miss Carrano, and it'll see the Spartans playing in the NIT as a result of winning the MEAC regular season title.

Evansville (Ekeje Bafou) -- 8-23, 4-14 MVC.

No games this week for the Aces.

Bryant (Score Galore) -- 10-20, 7-11 Northeast.

No games this week for the Bulldogs.

Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- 19-12, 14-4 Northeast.

3/8/17- Northeast Championship vs. (2) Central Conn. State (L 74-65).

Tough loss for the Hawks, who will be in the NIT after winning the Northeast regular season.

#21 UCLA (Patrick Hutt) -- 24-8, 12-6 Pac 10.

3/9/17- Pac 10 Quarterfinals vs. (7) Arizona State (W 89-46).
3/10/17- Pac 10 Semifinals vs. (3) Stanford (W 83-70).
3/11/17- Pac 10 Championship vs. (1) #7 Arizona (W 52-50).

The Bruins were going dancing anyways, but by winning the Pac 10 tourney, they've probably increased their seed by 1 or even 2 seed lines. Congrats to Coach Hutt and the Bruins.

Davidson (Randolph Childress) -- 18-16, 9-9 Southern.

3/6/17- Southern Championship vs. (3) UNC Greensboro (W 77-76).

With the Southern tourney win, the Wildcats are back in the NCAA Tournament after a 1 year absence, and they've also burst the bubble for at least 1 bubble team. Nice run at the end their for coach Childress.

Troy (Brett Hawkins) -- 15-15, 9-9 Sun Belt.

No games this week for the Trojans.

Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 18-15, 10-6 WAC.

3/9/17- WAC Quarterfinals vs. (6) Louisiana Tech (W 77-65).
3/10/17- WAC Semifinals vs. (2) Fresno State (W 77-66).
3/11/17- WAC Championship vs. (5) Gonzaga (L 93-83).

A heck of a run for the Warriors, who won 6 of their last 9 games, but lost the most important one. They still have a slight chance to get Coach Gunn his first postseason berth, but the RPI just isn't quite strong enough, and I think they'll miss out.

Oregon State (Jawouk Bafou) -- 13-17, 6-10 WAC.

3/9/17- WAC Quarterfinals vs. (2) Fresno State (L 76-65).

The Beavers took several steps back after last season, and they will end their season with that 13-17 record.

Now it's time to reveal the final polls going into the postseason tournaments.

Maine draws the 16th seed in the NCAA West Region and gets the honor of being smashed.. I mean... playing top seed Michigan State in the First Round.

UCLA gets the 4th seed in the NCAA West Region and will take on (13) New Mexico in the First Round.

Charlotte gets a surprising 4th seed in the NCAA Midwest Region and will open up against (13) Pepperdine. I more expected Charlotte to be a 6 or 7 seed, so this is a pleasant surprise.

Boston College was rewarded with a 6th seed in the NCAA South Region, largely based on their great RPI. They'll open up against (11) Dayton.

Davidson gets the 15th seed in the NCAA East Region and will take on (2) Arizona in the First Round.

Nice to see every region of the NCAA Tournament represented by an FOFC team. Moving on..

Monmouth gets the 9th seed in the NIT West Region and will travel to (8) Chattanooga in the First Round.

Norfolk State gets the 6th seed in the NIT Midwest Region and will travel to (3) Wyoming in their first game.

Wright State gets the 5th seed in the CBI and will host (12) Winthrop in the First Round.

As expected, Hawaii missed out, so only 8 of our 22 FOFC teams will be extending their season. The FOFC group has to do better.

I was down on UCLA's chances this year after a few early loses but I am happy with how they bounced back.

2017 NCAA Second Round

West Region

(5) Marquette all over (4) UCLA 79-62. The Bruins forgot to show up in this one.

Midwest Region

(4) Charlotte with another 8 point win, this time over (12) Ohio 73-65.

South Region

A total shocker here, as (14) Central Connecticut State rolls over (6) Boston College 88-68. Yuck!

2017 NIT Second Round

Midwest Region

(3) Wyoming just gets by (6) Norfolk State 69-68, meaning our NIT teams are gone.

2017 CBI Second Round

(5) Wright State rolls over (13) Stony Brook 90-75.

2017 NCAA Sweet Sixteen

Midwest Region

(1) Texas squeaked by a tough (4) Charlotte 82-76. Great effort by the 49ers. Now we turn our full attention to the CBI and Wright State.

2017 CBI Semifinals

(5) Wright State continues to roll, beating (8) Tulane 100-92.

Before we progress, I should note that Wright State coach Shane Korme got his 100th career win when the Raiders beat Stony Brook in the CBI Second Round. Win #101 was against Tulane, and now he'll look for wins 102 and 103 in the CBI Championship Series.

2017 CBI Championship Series

Game 1

(5) Wright State looks like a team of destiny, as they absolutely hammered (14) Texas-Pan American 94-55. 1 more game to go for a CBI Championship!

Game 2

(5) Wright State had another easy one, beating (14) Texas-Pan American 108-85 to win the CBI Championship Series. Congrats to head coach Shane Korme on an incredible run, he'll almost certainly have some job offers in the offseason.

The 2017 postseason recap and recruiting rankings and awards will be coming up, most likely tomorrow sometime, but I'll try to get to some of it tonight.

2017 Postseason Recap

The NCAA Final Four saw (1S) Ole Miss beat (2W) Oklahoma State 69-56 in one semifinal, while (1E) Villanova beat (1MW) Texas in the other semifinal. In the national championship game, Villanova beat Ole Miss 84-71.

The NIT Final Four saw (2S) Iowa beat (2W) TCU 64-45 in one semifinal, and (3E) Fresno State beat (3MW) Wyoming 77-46 in the other semifinal. In the NIT Championship, Iowa beat Fresno State 64-56. Not to rub salt in the wound, but how bad does Ernesto Lopez wish he was still at Iowa?

We already know what happened in the CBI, as Wright State ran through it.

The CIT Championship saw (3) VCU beat (5) Northern Illinois 76-67.

2016-2017 National Awards

We had 3 of our players get national awards, and let's take a look.

UCLA put JR PF Toby Miller on the All-NCAA 2nd Team.

UTEP put SR SG Michale Chism on the All-NCAA 2nd Team.

Norfolk State put JR PF Irving Casey on the All-NCAA 3rd Team.

2016-2017 Conference Awards

Hartford put PF Charles Mora on the America East All-Freshman Team.

Maine put SO C Charley Nadler, JR PF Stephen Sales, and JR SG Brian Wilke on the America East 1st Team and also put SO PG Jonathan Crooks on the America East 2nd Team. Based on that, you would think the Black Bears would be solid next season with all those players set to come back.

I'm shocked that Charlotte head coach Timmy Tribble didn't get A-10 Coach of the Year, to me it's a huge snub. The 49ers did put SO SG Anibal Leyva on the A-10 1st Team and PG Frank Given on the A-10 All-Freshman Team.

Surprisingly, no awards for Boston College.

Not surprisingly (Sorry Rob), no awards for Colorado.

Also, no awards for Louisville or Notre Dame.

High Point put JR PF Dustin Zahn on the Big South 2nd Team.

No awards for Penn State.

No awards for Cal Poly.

UTEP had the Conference USA Player of the Year in SR SG Michale Chism. He also made the Conference USA 1st Team.

Wright State put SR SG Stefan Gehrke on the Horizon 1st Team, and put JR SF Apollinaire Lepers and JR PG Joseph Maestas on the Horizon 2nd Team.

No awards for Central Michigan.

Norfolk State had a ton of awards. Let's start with Payten Carrano, who was named MEAC Coach of the Year. Also JR PF Irving Casey was the MEAC Player of the Year, along with being on the MEAC 1st Team. Also on the MEAC 1st Team was SR SG J.C. Gouveia. On the MEAC 2nd Team were SR C David Kessinger and SR PG Damion Davis.

No awards for Evansville.

Bryant put SR C Thomas Montanez on the Northeast 2nd Team.

Monmouth head coach Thomas Carrano was the Northeast Coach of the Year. How ironic is it that both of the coaches that won Coach of the Year in their conference were both Carrano's? Crazy. Also, the Hawks put SR PF Mitch Bye and JR PG Mark Patrick on the Northeast 1st Team.

UCLA put JR PF Toby Miller on the Pac 10 1st Team, as well as putting SR C Alton McKinnie on the Pac 10 2nd Team, and PG Emile Deffresnes on the Pac 10 All-Freshman Team.

Davidson SR PF Richard Goddard was the Southern Player of the Year, as well as being named to the Southern 1st Team. Also, FR SG James Kobayashi was the Southern Freshman of the Year and a member of the Southern All-Freshman Team.

Troy SO SF Marco Paul was named to the Sun Belt 2nd Team.

Hawaii put SR SF Robin Jack on the WAC 1st Team, SR C Fermin Mendez on the WAC 2nd Team, and Jayson Harris on the WAC All-Freshman Team.

Oregon State put JR PG Rod Elder on the WAC 2nd Team.

Congrats to Wright State! They'll be looking for bigger fish to fry next year!

And Timmy Tribble totally got snubbed.

Just a heads up, I'm still having some weird computer happenings at home. I think it has something to do with Windows 10 and updates. I hate Windows 10 with a passion already.

I've already lost one of my FBCB projects, so I'm being cautious with this one. I'm going to move forward, but be forewarned, if worse comes to worse there's a slight chance this project will have to be restarted, or at least backed up and some of the weeks may have to be replayed. If that happens, we'll just have to deal with it the best we can. It's not ideal, but computer issues have been the death of my projects for a while now. Again, I'll keep moving on, but just a heads up. I'm hoping things are ok now after the latest updates, but I don't know.

Thanks for the heads up. I know how it can be when computer issues mess up projects. I think I had that happen to a dynasty or two I did.

If you do have to restart, you can still count me in! I enjoy your dynasties.

I appreciate it, you're one of my best followers and that does mean a lot to know people are still involved. Unfortunately, if I have to restart this dynasty and the Interactive Player dynasty, you might be my only follower left!

It's going to be at least next week before I get back to this as my computer tech won't be available until at least this weekend, but as soon as I know something one or another, you'll know. Thanks for following!

Guys, I'm afraid I have some terrible news. I just got the word today that the computer I have at home that I run FBCB on is on life support. In other words, I'm going to have to pony up for a new PC, and reinstall FBCB. That unfortunately means this project is a wash.

I am going to be restarting this at some point, as soon as I get a new PC and get FBCB reinstalled. I am also going to try and download the most recent mod with conference realignment, to mix things up a bit from this one. I will be starting a sign-up thread now, so that maybe by the time I have FBCB up and running again on a new PC, I'll have enough coaches to start a dynasty. I know that I will probably lose some followers, and some of you won't sign up again, but I also know that some of you have already said you'll stick it out through another one.

So guys, look for the sign-up thread, as I will get it going today.

In the meantime, I am still able to do my What-if Sports NCAA Basketball Ultimate Tournament on my work computer, and I can report on my NCAA 09: Kansas State Dynasty from the family laptop, so please keep an eye on those 2 projects. Thanks, and again I apologize, I was hoping I wouldn't have to restart yet another project, but such is life. Thanks to everybody that did follow and will continue to follow.

For those of you that also follow my Interactive Player Dynasty, you'll see that I'm doing my best to keep that one going as is. Unfortunately, the coaches dynasty will be restarted, no matter what, for 2 reasons.

1. That particular file was wiped out in a forced reboot
2. I want to try and get teams in with a mod, and try and get the teams and conference as close to present as I can. This would put Colorado in the PAC 12 and such.

I won't be starting it until at least the 1st of November, that's provided I remember how to install mods properly and such. Stay tuned.
