Keenan Allen on IR after suffering a kidney problem. Expected to make a full recovery but sucks as he was having a monster year.

Kudos to the rappelling people on Monday night. I think they're getting a ton of mileage for their cause

Whatever their cause is, I'm against them.

It will be really impressive if they can keep that pace up. The Jags are kind of screwing them with wins over the Dolphins and Bills already.

Deep testament to the overall division shittiness... JACKSONVILLE IS TOO GOOD. *wipes brow*

Sorta like a pitcher that loses 20 games perhaps?

Let's see what the Chud can do. Most people saw Pep as a problem who was only kept on the team via loyalty.

Well on that note Jim Irsay is purported to have said he wanted to make to "go big-game hunting" when picking his next coach. So maybe he'll try to grab Nick Saban or something.

Or he could've been talking about scoring some drugs. Who knows.

I'm not sure he could get a big name. Doesn't he have a habit of interfering with what is going on, on the field?

Joe Thomas was nearly traded to the Broncos today-would have been quite a "kudos" for John Elway.

From what I hear it's been GM Ryan Grigson who interferes heavily, from the coaching staff to which players will start.

I saw somewhere where he was also 1-20 in games where he didn't have 8 months to prepare.

Pep was kind of a hot name a couple of years ago, but I've never really understood why. His offenses throw the ball down the field far to much for today's NFL.

Unfortunately, Chudzinski doesn't really change much. It's the same power running/vertical passing game that is really difficult to make work.

Actually for what the Browns wanted next years 1st and 2nd most Bronco fans are happy the trade did not happen. Sometimes the best deal made is the one that doesn't happen. Plus, after our Oline gave up 7 sacks in the first two games they are tied for the fewest surrendered in the last 6 games just 5.

Yeah good luck with landing anyone with a recognizable name until either Grigson is out or Irsay sells the team. ..and probably both.

I can maybe see a Shanahan going there but onl if Grigson is gone. And thats only because of Luck being the talent that he is.

Seems awfully shitty to can the OC as if he's the problem moreso than the washed up acquisitions and bad oline or even Luck himself.

If Cowher hasn't come back by now, I don't think he ever does.

Grigson is the problem in Indy. He has no idea how to build a winning team.

I didn't like the Hamilton hire when it happened. I'm glad he is gone.

I like Pagano, but not sure he's the right guy either. It is sad, but I wish they had kept Arians instead of him a couple of years ago.

Tough to fire a guy who was out because of cancer.

I wonder why he was kept when the Lion's are obviously serious about cleaning house.

Guess you have to have someone capable of operating the lights at the beginning and end of each day.

Also, you avoid the awkwardness of having to include the interim coach in the hiring process next year, especially if he is at all successful this season.

2. Former general manager Matt Millen recommended the team hire Martin Mayhew. "You want to know how it went down?" Millen asked during an interview with MLive.com in April 2015. "This is how it went down. Mr. [Henry Clay] Ford -- look, there is some stuff nobody knows about, and they shouldn't know about. But, anyway, when the thing came down, he didn't know what to do. I said, 'This is what you're going to do. You're going to hire Martin as your general manager. You're going to take Tom (Lewand) and make him the president -- that's what he's been trying to do for the last seven years. And Tom could be an asset.'"
So, yeah, even though Millen has been gone seven years, his legacy remains. As for Mayhew's previous experience, he had worked in the XFL, and under Millen, whose Lions teams went 31-84 during his eight-year tenure.
The good news is that Mayhew was markedly better than his predecessor; the Lions were 51-66 since he took over (that's a .436 winning percentage, compared to Millen's .270). The bad news is that the Lions have been terrible this season, and have had two-, four- and six-win seasons with Mayhew and Lewand at the helm. Detroit did win 11 games last season, and 10 in 2011, but even the good seasons come with caveats.

Yeah, the sooner we can distance ourselves from the Matt Millen era the better.

I wonder how much of it was her and how much is other Ford family members making these decisions. She is 90 years old after all.
