Midnight in the Desert - aka Art Bell's Back, baby!

Well, he's been back for a few months. Alright, who listens? Here's his website - Midnight in the Desert or here - Artbell.com

I may listen in.

Coast to Coast AM is still a guilty pleasure of mine.

It's been awesome so far. Takes me back to when I was a kid staying up way too late and listening to Coast. Can't stand Noory and the way Coast is now. It's so great to be able to listen to Art again. There's been a bit of drama as there usually is with Art, but he seems to be in top form and enjoying himself.

I used to really enjoy Noory but he had a guest who called the listeners idiots and Noory did nothing. Art would've shut that down real quick, but Noory didn't say anything. It's happened more than once, so.... I'm out.

Th-roughly enjoyed the interview with Neil deGrass Tyson. It seemed to me, that the first part of the interview didn't go so well, but I know Art has to cater to the UFO fans.

Yeah I don't wanna see him go again, hope they catch the guy. Strange it all seemed to happen right after his feud with the former dark matter news guy came about and the guy got dropped from the show.

you're having trouble believing that someone in america shot at someone else just because he didn't like what they said?

I'm just saying that it's really odd how all these mischievous things always seem to be plaguing him.

Yup, just read it.

I am sorry to have to announce this but I will not be on Tonight or any other night, yes I am going to hang it up. Whoever this crazy person is, they are not stopping and it has come to the point that we as a Family do not feel it is worth the risk. While I think the person or persons are after me, my Wife and now my Daughter are really scared, the other night after the latest incident my Daughter was off in the corner of her bed scared to death as the Police cars came screaming up. I will not put my Family through this. As you all know I dearly love what I do but not at the expense of never ending Terrorism. I want to thank those of you who have shown so much support and it has been my joy, short as it has been to have cracked that Mic open for a last time. This was a Family decision. The girls stuck with me and still would but if one of them were harmed because of what I love doing my life would be over.

dola,

Apparently his producer will be doing Open Lines tonight:

There will be a live show Tonight and while I know people hate change, Heather my Producer has decided to give tonight's show a try! I would ask that you give her a fair listen before you decide thumbs up or down. She is really really good at what she does.

double dola,

I was getting a little annoyed with his constant complaining about how people sounded, anyway. "Put the microphone between your mouth and chin, that always sounds good." "When you speak, speak right into the microphone and get real close to your computer", and on and on and on. After a while, it was distracting from the meat of the show.

A few episodes ago he was talking about Feral Humans and he had the audacity to compare them to people with Autism. I mean seriously, that's the most ignorant, asinine thing I've ever heard him say. You can tell he was trying to backtrack because he was looking for words, but they weren't coming out right. I guess it struck a nerve because my son has autism. People shouldn't talk about shit they know nothing about.

It's probably all for the best. That leaves 2 hours open in my schedule.

Yeah just like when he would say turn down your radio 20 times a show in the 90's or spend at least ten minutes complaining about cell phones. I just honestly have a hard time believing him with all of the history involved. But we knew what we were getting into when he came back I suppose. I bet tonight's show will be an absolute train wreck of angry callers.

Awwwww. I love this song, it brings back so many awesome memories of back in the mid 90's when Antmeister and I first met. We'd listen to Art in the middle of the night, go on road trips, or just stay up late and listen to Coast to Coast AM. I used to work the night shift and C2C was always there. Noory was great too, in the beginning, but somehow the show has been going downhill for years.

I've seen a few playlists of his bumper music, too. I liked being a Time Traveler since I could download and listen whenever I wanted, without streaming. I'll have to figure out a way to download and listen to his old stuff.

Some of my favorites songs

So I guess the crazy stalker doesn't mind if Art calls in and basically does the show anyway as he did last night? The classics are the best, I especially loved the Harlot the witch episode, it really freaked me out growing up. Hope we can find some show or host that can scratch the paranormal itch in a similar fashion.

I wonder how much of the "shooter story" is overexaggerated paranoia". I don't dispute that there was a crazy nut threatening him or even that he was shot at.

But the rest of it might be paranoia. He's been paranoid about other things in the past (aside from his show itself). I remember him all mad at George Noory because he thought George was dissing him and ignoring all his emails and not doing what Art wanted, something like that.
He posted about George doing that on his website. I can see though George just ignoring him after repeated emails tho.

I think George is okay but his show subjects weren't as interesting.

I've been listening to Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis to get my paranormal fix. Art really seems to be playing up the drama these days in his posts, as well as trying to keep people hoping for a return.
