National Signing Day thread

Tomorrow is the day that the recruits put pen to paper to commit to a school.

So, this isn't the thread about National Singing Day?

I cannot conclusively say that there will not be singing tomorrow. But there defintely will be lots of signing.

I am excited. Kalani only had 6 weeks to make an impact, he might have pulled it off. But securing the ones that the old regime recruited that were good, and bringing in others that are solid players I think, it will be good. The class should end up rated in the 50's unless we can get a few flips we didn't expect.

Will be interesting to see if the cliff-jumpers or the hold-the-rope Aggie fans are right about tomorrow. From what I hear, it could be a bit of a blood bath with flipping the wrong way.

Pretty nice class Chris Petersen has assembled for Washington - at least by Scout.com's ratings. It'll be a small class with 17 (unless something crazy happens tomorrow with Asiasi, Tagaloa or Harry) due to a very small graduating class, but on a per-star basis it's currently 17th in the country at a 3.47 average; only USC (3.92) and Oregon (3.50) currently have a higher average in the Pac-12, though UCLA could jump past them if they close strong tomorrow.

People here believe they are no longer a package. Asiasi coming here, Boss to UCLA. And full-blown panic on Gary now.

They were never considered a package.

I think there is too much "smoke" with Asiasi to Michigan

Best guesses I've seen are Tagaloa to UCLA and Asiasi to USC, though Tui to UCLA might be enough to sway him to the Bruins too. He's got a good relationship with Paopao also which is why Washington might have an outside shot still.

You'd have to think Mique to UCLA unless the LDS angle pushes him to BYU.

Stranger things have happened, but Boss has essentially be a UCLA lean since last spring. Strange things like lifelong UCLA fan, Alize Jones, picking Notre Dame because of his friendship with the scrub son a millionaire.

I'd like to be more optimistic about Asiasi, but these things never work out for UCLA

I think for Mique, it's down to UCLA and Alabama, but I dont think he leaves his family.

I don't think Asiasi is coming to USC. I think he ends up at Michigan. However, USC should close nicely tomorrow with Jack Jack, a surprise, and 2 or 3 other nice names to finish with a top 10 class and probably the highest average star class.

My son Tom and a few of his teammates are having their signing ceremony at their high school tomorrow. His mom and I are extremely excited for him and he is ecstatic to be continuing football in college. None of them are going to D1 schools, but I think it is cool they still get to have this ceremony.

Actually I think Bama is out, I think you will get him at UCLA and we have like a 5% chance he comes to BYU. His mom loved her visit her, loved everything about it, but she isn't driving the bus. She has a small say, I think he goes to UCLA because of his dad.

Actually, his dad is more neutral on things, mom is running the recruitment and she's been Pro-UCLA the whole time, though she'd love him at BYU too.

Big last few minutes for the Longhorns. The get the top Safety in the state, Brandon Jones, and they get Erick Fowler to flip from LSU.

The new OC they brought in runs the kind of offense that Jerrod Heard is used to. My guess is that unless Buechele just wows everyone in the spring, he'll be redshirted and Heard will be the QB.

Yeah I gotta give credit to Charlie. No idea how he is doing as well as he is doing today when the probabilities of this season being his last in Austin. I guess the next coach will have lots of talent to work with, minus said QB

Class has gone what I thought it would so far with BYU.

Simi Fehoko did stick with his Stanford commit, but he is a sign and send kid (Going on his mission first.)

Hank Tuipolotu has South Carolina and NC State pushing for him hard the last month and I was concerned they would flip him, but he is a legacy kid and chose to stay with BYU.

I think Strong saved himself for 3 years with the bosters buys...errr... flipping the kid from LSU.

As for drinking...You haven't seen our class...But in all honesty it's good enough considering Petrino was horrible at it and JL Smiley Smith didn't do any. This year was disappointing as we lost every kid that was 4* and would have us in the top 3 but we haven't been on those kids radars in the past.

I suspect this will be Coastal Carolina's best class ever. Moving up to Division I gives them around 20 extra scholarships to award. We will see how not being able to play in a bowl game next year affects who they sign or not.

LOL. I am sure Cartman has more insight than me, but unless Charlie pulls about 9 rabbits out of his ass, he is a goner this year.

And I like Fat Boy alot. His teams seem to get stronger as the season rolls on. If y'all wouldnt start so damn slow every year, yall could be a player

He still has the support of the administration and the big donors. I think he has to get to 8 wins this year to keep off of the hot seat.

Fat Boy will have to prove his worth this year. Only losing All American TE, both guards, both running backs and QB to the draft (Allen probably worked his way onto draft boards with his senior year and senior bowl performance).

We just inked a C from Pularski Academy out of Little Rock.

Isn't that the school that doesn't punt and always kicks onsides kicks?

It is all going to boil down to how well the new offense clicks. The one that Watson was trying to put in never did connect with the players.

USC signs JC DT Josh Fatu. Working the numbers, this makes me think Devin Asiasi is definitely not going to USC.

Pretty happy with BYU's class so far, no real surprises good or bad and outside of Trinneman no real sexy players on the offensive side, though dual threat QB Jaren Hall has great potential.

Really solid on the defensive side though with Warner, Tanielu, Tooley, Livai, Pili and another Kaufusi. A couple of key kids to plug in to the secondary in Warner and Tooley and a lot of really solid front 7 prospects.

Trinnaman is a stud! So is Finau, but we are deep in the backfield and WR and it's all about the hogs up front. Kalani and Company had to scramble to get the guys we have, but don't forget who we have returning off their missions this year too..
