RIP: Keith Emerson

The great prog rock keyboardist, widely known from him time in Emerson, Lake, and Palmer passed away at the age of 71 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

And its only going to continue. Emerson was the reason I got a Korg Poly 800 in the early 80's. Of course, I never really learned to play it well.

RIP. I was never a big fan of ELP, but I liked their debut a little, and it was one of the first prog albums I bought back when I discovered it was a thing. Really sad to hear about what brought the suicide on - his inability to play music any more.

Take a Pebble was probably my favourite Emerson track - him at his most restrained:
