Rapper Phife Dawg, a member of rap pioneers A Tribe Called Quest, has died at the age of 45.
The musician had been struggling with ill health and diabetes for several years, and received a kidney transplant from his wife in 2008. |

This one particularly hurts. Wasn't a huge fan of ATCQ until I heard Q-Tip on the Beasties "Check Your Head". So I went to the record store and asked the hip-hop guy what Tribe I needed to buy. He showed me the section with all of their records. "Which one?". "All of them." So I bought myself "Paths of Rhythm," "Low End Theory," and "Midnight Marauders" and listened to them non-stop for probably 6 months. I'm really really sad today.
