Worlds Apart - A Rocking Rackets Dynasty (World 3 & World 4)

Like many others, I've been sucked into this addicting game. Premise for this thread is simple; I have (2) players in both world 3 and world 4 so we'll be tracking all the happenings in this thread.

Current Time: GW3 Year 211, Week 39

- We will meet our heroes in 212 when the calendar turns, but for now I'll just say we have a 15 yo. American who is currently 17-7 with (4) RUP's in JG5 single tournaments and (2) victories in JG5 doubles. Our second player is a 14 yo. who just replaced a former Spainard who was dumped in GW38. The young Serbian has yet to see a competitive match for us.

Current Time: GW4 Year 208, Week 9

- 25 yo. Robert Kubel (Austria) started the year with a world ranking of 585 and a doubles ranking of 989. Kubel is a very well built player who plays with power and not as much finesse. His service game leads much to be desired as past coaches clearly did not emphasize that part of his game. Robert has (1) Amateur and (1) Futures title to his name with both wins coming on clay. His current career record is 108-84 with a doubles record of 106-91.

- 15 yo. Howard Slaymaker (USA) has shown some promise so far. He entered the year with a Junior ranking of 292. Howard has (1) Junior Indoor title which he won when he was 15yr 2wk old. His current record is 28-19 with a doubles record of 26-13.

Weeks 1-9 Recap

Howard starts the season off with some practice tournaments prior to getting his first action in Week 5 where he represented Team USA in the Junior Team Cup round 1 action against Switzerland. Matches were played on clay. In his first match, he was paired with Elliot Carpenter (ranked 222) and they easily dispatched of the Swiss foe 6-1, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2. Later in the week Howard matched up with Herald Nimitz (488). Howard took care of business winning 6-3, 7-5, 6-2. In Week 6, Howard flew down to Mexico City where he was entered as a 2-seed in the JG4 Hard court tournament. Unfortunately, Howard was bounced in the 1st Round 0-6, 2-6 to Sozen Deguchi of Japan. Howard spent the remainder of the week focusing on the doubles side of the draw where he and his partner were knocked out in the semi-finals.

Like Howard, Robert started the year off getting practice tournaments in where he could focus on fixing his slicing serve. In Week 6, Robert was in Argentina where he was entered as a 6-seed in the FT3 Clay tournament. He starts off the tourney with a quick 6-3, 6-3 win versus a qualifier and follows that up with a 6-2, 6-4 victory against another qualifier. In the QTRS, he was matched up against 4-seed Gabriel Chevillion (432) and Robert wins a quick match 6-3, 6-2. In the SF, 1-seed Fabien Chartoire (445) stood in the way from Robert's first final of the season. Fabien gets off to a quick start winning the first set, but Robert battles out winning the last two to advance 6-7, 7-5, 7-5. In the finals, David Fangio from Argentina is waiting after he advanced with a quick 6-1, 6-1 match in his SF. Fangio's home advantage combined with him being a bit more rested was just too much for Robert to get past and he falls 4-6, 5-7. On the doubles side, Robert and his partner were knocked out in the QTRs.

Good luck!

Also, this is getting ridiculous. A little side project that I delayed posting for quite a while and didn't expect would go much of anymore is now practically taking over the dynasty forums.

Look forward to reading! GW3 is my second home. Look for Andrej Lindner (17, SVK) and Octave Karembeu (14, SUI).
