The KISS Army!
Just curious if anyone else here is a proud member of the KISS Army? I am of course referring to the rock band which was formed in 1973 and still tours today.
When I'm in the mood to listen to good straight-forward rock and roll... no one does it better than KISS! And for so may years! I had a hard time accepting the departure of original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss and had the attitude for awhile that they can't really be called "KISS" without Ace and Peter. But the other members who have been a part of the band over the years, have been very talented... such as Vinnie Vincent, the late great Eric Carr (RIP), the late great Mark St. John (RIP) and Bruce Kulick! The current lead guitar player, Tommy Thayer, and drummer, Eric Singer, are also very good musicians. And then, of course, there has always been Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. I've always been a big Paul Stanley fan... and, while he is a bit overbearing when it comes to the commercial aspects of the band, it's hard to deny that Gene Simmons is a very good bass player! My favorite member of the band has always been Ace Frehley. I love the way he plays guitar! I think that he has been a bit underrated and not taken seriously by music critics because they couldn't get past the makeup. But who cares about music critics? Many musicians and other people that know a lot about guitar playing recognize that he is great and that his style has been very influential to many who have come after him. But I don't care what they say either... I just love the way he plays guitar! Anyway... I could go on and on. Any other fans here? Anyone else a card carrying official member (with the $50.00 annual membership fee) of The KISS Army? |

I became a Kiss fan in 78. I was fascinated by them and my bedroom was covered with posters. Love gun was my first lp. I then went on to get the other albums up to unmasked then I lost interest when the Elder hit the stores.
Sorry but you can count me as one who thinks Kiss is the original members. I'd have more respect for Tommy & Eric if they would were different makeup and not copy their actions. But I'm sure that was G & P's idea. And Gene looks horrible now with his fat round face in makeup. Ace was also my fav. If u haven't check out his latest 2 albums. They really kick ass. Kiss goes down as my first love for RnR and great memories of my childhood. And no I was never a Army member. |

I have all of Ace's solo albums and agree with you that the latest 2 are great! The most recent KISS album, "Monster", is also very good! |
