Upgraded Menu +

Once again after spending time I have tweaked the menu screen, for the better if I must say so myself. In addition there are a few other tweaks included in the zip. Pics are included in it also for your viewing pleasure.

- Menu selections pop more.
- Added background graphic. The weekly menu graphic may get tweaked some.
- Changed restricted/unrestricted roster flags
- Includes the red and green ratings bars for those who prefer one or the other.
- Player ratings color range is brighter and distinct.
- a few more.

This stuff looks great. The fact that Jim wasn't able to do something resembling this work leaves me to believe Jim has some severe creativity difficiencies. Like on a medical level. Like he might be a numbers guy but ask him to draw a circle and it'll look like a rectangle. Or perhaps he's legitimately color blind. I'm being serious, just trying to explain how his very solid game could look like such complete crap. His choice of font that comes with the unmodded game is laughable. Some text is unreadable. Color scheme doesn't flow. The fact that he had hired help to assist with the UI is a head scratcher. Anyone here could've done a better job using MS Paint. I love the game and the stats it generates but it looks like crap. Very weird.

You know, they say Einstein had like 14 suits, each one exactly the same. He was unable (or unwilling to be bothered) to make choices about his wardrobe. But he was otherwise pretty bright.

You need to post the elements file you sent me NF.. it's so much easier on my eyes, I'm sure others would like it. (much brighter and better color pallet, at least imho)

I really like the contrast. However, I miss the 'Fit' data in the draft. Everyone on defense has a 'fade to gray' there instead.

Explain.. as I have no idea what this means and maybe NF can fix it for us.

Very nice! I've converted to these except for the elements. I liked the color scheme I had modded before it was taken away in 7 and added a Chemistry Chart along with the Ideal Weight Charts.

Sure, on the draft screen defensive players have 'fit' indicators, for example '43SLB' or '34DE'. In the set attached, they are all only a gray gradient.

Anyone know what the little white box with a "u" inside it means to the left of the overall rating?

Ties to the free agent status:

U = "Unrestricted"
R = "Restricted"

As I have said, many times. The font, for my 59 1/2 year old eyes, is readable only with difficulty, for short periods of time. Yes, the game appears to treat football in a realistic way and produces what appear to be realistic stats, but it is barely playable.

Let me be clear: I don't want 3D graphics or little sprites moving around. I just want the font to be a little bit bigger. Someone told me of a way to increase the size of on-screen text by adjusting the resolution. That works, but now the text is blurred.

Please! I want to buy the latest version of this game!

I don't think I can see my team captains indicated with this add-on... correct? Not a crisis, just a tiny functional thing.

The file does have the "C" icons.. I'll have to check when I get home.

Ok, well, that's weird. In my two MP leagues, I see the captain logos in the native FOF8 league, but I don't in the converted league. I do see them in my SP league (obviously native FOF8 as well).

Maybe this has nothing to do with the graphics setup, and is just another weird converted-league bug.

Hate even having to ask this but I don't ever recall seeing them. Where do they show up?

Never mind, did find them in the personality view in both SP and MP. Are all of the "C" logos supposed to be used? In my SP I have 2 different ones, in the MP the 2 are the same.

The jersey #s for WRs on the roster screen is messed up. For the guys who have a "1" jersey # (19, 11, etc) the "1" shows up as a 9. You can even see it in your Browns screenshot above. Just pointing it out, not really a biggie.

I think they go by color scheme and the + for each year they are captain, so a player with ++ would be a 2 year captain. Mine are both brown.

Ahhh.. I see the issue and I don't think NF even saw that as it's the same in his other sets I believe.

The left side jersey numbers in the elements file must be offense, so after 89, it goes 10, 11, 12, etc..

Ok, if you want correct jerseys.. I've done my best to put the original jerseys back into this particular elements file. My MS paint skilz are novice at best.

Just rename file to elements

My apologies gents, I missed that. Using my files from FOF7 without paying attention to the changes. For anyone interested the link below has the zip with the fixed element files along with the other window dressing.

For those that need larger text I apologize as I have been trying to work some other fonts but can't seem to get anything to come out as clean as I would like. I tried altering the exe file using reshacker but Steam really didn't like that apparently. Not giving up yet, hell, it took me sometime to figure out how to get a background graphic in the menu screen.

Thanks
