The Box Score...

It's such a beautiful thing. Whether I've been watching 10 games a night or haven't paid attention to the sport all year, clicking on a box score is like...opening up a piece of the past. Simple and yet all telling. I love the box score.

Yes.
I miss the old The Sporting News. When it was a paper. And they had all the box scores from the previous weeks games in it.

In the summer I would walk to the store 2-3 times a week, buy a paper and vanilla zingers, then grab a glass of milk and adjourn to the back porch and read the box scores while I ate my zingers. That was pretty much heaven...

Every morning I pour through box scores to see how my fantasy players performed among other things. I know it would be way easier to just go to the league page and see how everybody did in one place, but there's something about pouring through box scores to find out what happened that I really enjoy.

Wow, hadn't thought about The Sporting News in a long time. I loved reading that when I was young.

I miss this.

Edit to add that I don't really play fantasy sports much anymore, so I miss both the leagues and the poring over box scores.
