Curved Monitor?
Does anyone own a curved computer monitor? I'm think about upgrading from my 22" LCD to a Samsung 27" LED monitor. I think it would be great for gaming (although I do less of it these days) but concerned with office type duties - like spreadsheet use.
Anyone have one that would care to comment? |

Don't have one myself, but I have a hard time believing any gain from being curved is possible on something that is only 27 inches. Maybe on a large flat screen TV, but not the monitor you are looking at. It's largely a gimmick feature.

I have a 34" curved ultrawide that's made by LG. It is amazing to use and the curve just brings the picture a little closer to you than a flat set up. I have a flat 29" ultrawide as well that sits above it that is nice, but gives a much different experience.

I went with the dual 27" flat screens and don't regret it. In monitors the total curve is only going to get you about half an inch closer than non curved and if you can get two monitors for the price of one then you should go with that option.

I found that I could get a 4k 28" inch samsung monitor for about the same price as the curved. I might just go that route as I have a GTX 980 video card, which is maybe not quite 4k ready but could eventually upgrade to one.
Either way, it would still throw a much better display than an 11 year old monitor. Thanks for the advice, keep it coming as it's a tough decision. |
