Listened to some Byrds this morning, Bells of Rhymney is a pretty decent song too.

Or at least (maybe) under the level where people will know Song X is them. (The songs are more recognizable than the band performing them is what I'm trying to say )

The Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo is recognized as a classic, as it was arguably the first country-rock record, and introduced the world to Gram Parsons (and was one of the four dozen records in my mom's collection that I grew up with), but didn't have anything close to a single, or a popular song.

I may well be the only person in the history of the world to have this thought, but...
Everytime I hear The Byrds ' So you wanna be a rock and roll star' intro. I am immediately reminded of The Doors and then I imagine Ray Manzarek playing that song and wonder what the current music scene would have been like had Mazarek been a Byrd and not founded The Doors... |

Speaking of Gram, I hope the Flying Burrito Brothers show up in this tournament.
