The match up had to go 'that' way didn't it - choosing between The Beatles and Queen and two other bands I'm 'meh' about ..

(went Pink Floyd on the basis that they have a few classics and I loved 'the Wall' back when I was a teen - wonder if Trump did also )

If both the Beetles and Pink Floyd I just won't be able to vote in the finals. Ugh.

If I made a soundtrack album for every year of my life, this would be a huge chunk of my "College Freshman Year CD"

You're going to have to rephrase that, my friend. College Freshman Year meaning 1975?!?

Meaning 1996 (my first year in college), the year I discovered Pink Floyd made more music than just The Wall!

I've never really cared for the Wall much. There was a time I loved the obvious hits. Hey YOu...Comfortably Numb...Another Brick in the Wall...

But the piece as a whole I never got into. I thought Waters got so far self indulgent that the whole piece just didn't appeal to me. Or maybe it was the movie...which really had different meaning than the actual songs. I suppose I should give it another go. See if anything is there still. The guitar playing in Brick is still great.

My favorites were things like Animals, Meddle and obv Dark Side but have heard Dark Side SO MUCH (with Oz and without) that I just couldn't listen anymore. Oh yeah Wish You Were Here is wonderful. Like Barrett's stuff too. But psychadelia is one of those things the masses put down constantly.

Beatles were one of the first bands I was exposed to. I found a cassette my older brother had from his roommate's collection. Listened to it. It was Revolver and Yellow Submarine. Was hooked ever since.

Albeit it was the american revolver...the one without 3 of john's brillant contributions (I'm only sleeping, Bird Can Sing, and uh I forget the other)

I still like some of George's songs best I think.
Neat instrumental cover of I Me Mine.

Way too many great Beatles songs simply outweigh a few good Queen ones. I think Queen is a tad overrated honestly.

The other two, really don't care who wins.

Love Comfortably Numb.
Led Zeppelin 2 is my favorite album. I would smoke up and turn on the TV with no sound and play this album and chill with the lights out.

I went Queen. Just to be a rebel. I like the Beatles, but never really got into them. I think if I bought an album today. I would appreciate them more.

I had to vote for the Beatles as I doubt a band will ever have the impact they did. I rarely listen to them these days though as I find their music very basic and out dated. Not so with Queen. The Beatles remind me of a sprinter who ran 10.2 60 years ago and won by 10 meters. Hard to get excited about now, but I guess they are the greatest.

Once the Beatles stopped touring they stopped being basic.
