Shelter in Place Idea #33 - Men's Basketball

Hello alll! I hope you are staying safe. One of the things I;ve been doing is watching classic games on YouTube, such as 2018's UMBC vs Virginia matchup, which is crazy as I work at UMBC:

Or the WVU over Wake Forest double OT classic from 2005 during the Beliein era with Mike Gansey, Pittsnogle, et all. Are any of you watching any older games out there given the lack of March Madness or requirements to shelter in place?

No. Zero desire to watch a replay of any sporting event.

I was in Vegas when UMBC won that game. I can't think of a better place to be when that happened. Was amazing.

I just can't understand why NCAA has not put way more games online. The only one from Dayton's Elite 8 run available is game 1, and then the loss to Florida in the Elite 8. I have watched a few that were on CBSSN. Duke/Kentucky from '92, even though I don't like either team. It was just such a great game.

I know it's not basketball, but the coolest thing I've seen so far has come from SNY's YouTube, who is playing out the Mets games in real-time every day. I got to watch my Phillies play yesterday and pull out a 4-2 win.

So, there's that.

Yeah. I mean if they were going to do these games with commentary if the athletes and coaches cut in *maybe* I’d think about it

I wish I could watch game replays, but I just can't seem to make myself do it. Though if this persists, that might change.

I watched this game late last year. Was amazing to watch from a Virginia perspective. A scrappy team keeps you close in the first half. Ok, a little unsettling. But when UMBC came out in the second half draining buckets and the wheels fall off Virginia's bus, you could see how helpless they are and how the reality of it all begins to set in.
