My top 5 are.

1. Baseball beer- nothing better than a cold beer at a ballgame

2. first beer after beach- nothing better than a cold beer to wash the salt down, bonus points if you're on vacation.

3. Ski Lodge beer- love having a beer after a day on the slopes

4. BBQ Beer- I love grilling with a beer in hand

5. Shower beer- usually means a fun night ahead, sadly this is a rare beer since having kids

Nope. We are shower beer partakers as well down here in TX. In fact on a similar vein, the shower dip is 2nd place to only the After Second Beer Dip.

1. Vacation/Beach Beer: These sort of merge for me. If I am at the beach, it is likely a vacation. Nothing like a refreshing beer when you are so hot and salty. Bonus because family/friends are around, too.

2. BBQ Beer: I am so accustomed to this, that one time I was in charge of a grillout at a public park where no alcohol was allowed, and I felt legitimately weird standing over hot coals without a beer.

3. Friday after work beer: A chance to be social with work colleagues. A great start to the weekend.

4. Patio beer: I live in a modest house, but we have a great patio. Sitting out with my wife, watching the backyard and having a beer. That's the shit.

5. Beer with Dad: Family is so important. I moved away for college, so I haven't had a lot of beers with Dad. I try to treasure them when I do.

+1 on Shower Beer. Way too old for it now, but daydrinking, then heading home and getting ready to go out while drinking in the shower is a rite of passage.

Other than that I agree with Ballpark/Sports beer (sixteen dollar crappy light beer never managed to taste so good) but #1 for me is vacation beer. Sitting by a pool somewhere warm knowing it’s way too early for your third cerveza - absolute perfection.

One anti-favorite beer I've never figured out - the movie beer.

The last thing I want to do when I go to the movies is go to the bathroom, or to concessions. So at the artsy theater where this is possible, I'm basically paying $5 or whatever for one plastic cup of beer that I'll probably finish during the trailers. Kind of pointless.

I thought Shower Beer was a joke, tbh. I'll go for Airport Beer. I tend to get the airport mad early so hanging out drinking a beer is always pretty nice.

I hate the prices of airport beer.

But some of the more interesting conversations I have had with strangers have been at airport bars (or hotel bars) when I was doing business travel alone. It's one of the few places where a lot of people there are alone, and it isn't weird to be at that bar alone, so people are generally willing to strike up conversation.

One thing I miss about Oregon is movie theaters that sell beer. The My Little Pony movie is a lot more tolerable with a few beers.

My first experience with Movie Theater beer was at age 18 as a freshman in college. In true collegiate fashion, we snuck some 40 oz malt liquor in and sat way in the back to avoid as much suspicion as possible.

Of course, my roommate knocked over his bottle almost immediately and the extraordinarily loud "roll-roll-roll-ka-CHUNK...roll-roll-roll-ka-CHUNK" as it rolled down every stair in the place was hilarious.
