Amazon Household
My SO and I are currently exploring ways to begin sharing accounts now that we live together. Logically, we thought the best way for Amazon is to just get rid of her Amazon account and we would both use mine.
However, she introduced me to Amazon Household, where it says two different users can use one household. I'm trying to figure out the benefit here. The only obstacle of sharing one Amazon account is losing your discreet birthday/holiday gift purchases. Household seemingly would solve that problem, but if I understand correctly, you both still pay a premium Prime fee? Unless I'm wrong here, I don't see the point. Anyone got Amazon Household? |

My wife and I have Household. We pay only one Prime fee.
The latest advantage I just discovered is that the Prime Video now separates accounts/profiles within the household. She watches her shows, and I can watch mine!

Basically the main benefit is to share one Prime fee. Everything else is still separate. You each have your own account, with your own payment methods, wish lists, order history, etc. You can still secretly buy each other Christmas/birthday gifts. Nothing is different from before householding.

Although I liked this service, was a little bummed that you can only have (2) adults (over 18) on it. My daughter is turning 18 soon and going off to college, but won't be able to use the services anymore. Would have loved if dependents could still use it but I guess I understand people would abuse it then.

She can get Prime Student for about $50 a year. It's up to 4 years at that rate, and gives all the benefits of a full prime membership.
