RIP to one of the few high profile NoDak's I learned about as a kid. We didn't get to celebrate a whole lot of people from North Dakota growing up, so a very Norwegian-American coach like Lute was someone I could relate to on tv was pretty cool.

The last time Iowa made it to the Final 4 was under Lute. I was a teenager then. A great man and coach. The man was greatly respected by Iowans.
