RIP James Randi
Not a lot of famous people that I “liked” more than him.

I guess all those years of overdosing on homeopathic sleep pills have finally put him to sleep.

He was always fun to listen to and loved how he called out the snakeoil salesmen.

I got a book a long time ago Called FLIM FLAM written by Randi. Still have it. Had no idea who he was at the time.
But Penn and Teller wroter the foreword. So that got me interested. Maybe someone gave it to me. They were huge Randi fans and that's seen in their work including their movie Penn and Teller get killed. So many great stories and pictures of people from the long distant past telling lies and trying to make themselves "magical" |

great pictures from early 20th century. Great stories ...the most memorable one (or at least one that i remember) is a girl who was "psychic" and would know cards or something while blindfolded because she was blessed by God. Randi tested her and she used her own blindfold goggles. He put blacktape over the nosepiece which she tried to remove. And he kept recovering it. THen she started crying and left the room. So she hcould see through a crack in the goggles. Her mother asked Randi afterward "Don't you believe in God?" Lots of stories like that here is A listing there may be others. Or maybe it's at your library https://www.amazon.com/Flim-Flam-Psy.../dp/0879751983 |

Oh that is great!! This stuff is like magic to me, in the sense, I WANT to know how it's done because to me, the way it's done is more interesting than the actual trick itself. Nice! Thank you for the link!

Oh man, that was great! I had to pause it or I would watch the whole thing, but, I'm trying to work, haha! That is a perfect example of showing how it works, love it!
