Who Juices?

Been thinking about getting a Nutri Bullet or variant thereof. I imagine we have a few folks who do that sort of thing so I guess I'm looking for tips, experiences with various products etc.

One thing I'm interested in is cups. With winter coming up I'll want to probably do a bulk juicing and freeze a good amount. How are those stainless steel type cups when it comes to freezing long term, and is it even a good idea to freeze long term?

I'm just lookin for any insight I guess. I was doing real good for about 2 years but I've fallen off the wagon and most days it's a fucking task to even think about doing anything physical let alone actually do it.

I'm sure it's been cut way down with all the testing & stuff nowadays.

edit to add: Canseco probably knows though

We have used the Nutri-bullet for years now. I use it religiously every day for both green smoothies (Spinach, Kale, Avocado and 0 calorie decaffeinated Green Tea) and protein shake smoothies.

Gives me 6-8 servings of fruits/veggies a day, quick, easy clean up and the unit is pretty durable. Definitely a good deal at $100 a unit and they come with a replacement guarantee too. The recipe book has recipes for a multitude of different things and there is zero waste. I would definitely recommend it.

Dola, I wouldn't recommend freezing the juice. It is so easy you can make two in literally three minutes, drink one then, put one of the enclosed tops on the other and take it to work in a lunch bag that holds an ice pack.

The drinks loose some of their value if frozen, or not consumed within a few hours.

I used to, but there's a decent amount of research now suggesting that it isn't really good for you.

If you're using a Nutri Bullet, cleanup is much easier than, say, a Breville Juicer. I love juicing, and Antmeister and I are actually going to start this week. I have 3 go to recipes - Green Lemonade, Carrot Apple Ginger Juice, and my trusty smoothie from when I was a kid - Chocolate Banana Smoothie with a dash of cinnamon.

Thanks for the post, it reminded me to get a list ready.

Also, I concur with BYU, it's best to drink fresh.

I think it is important to differentiate between juicing and emulsifying. You lose a lot of nutrients juicing, using the nutri-bullet retains all nutrients and fiber and is much more beneficial.

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, i was talking more about emulsification than juicing. Thanks for the tip on freezing. I guess that's just part of my laziness, fear of not doing something daily and losing the routine. Definitely gonna be picking up a bullet though.

We've had a nutri ninja at the house for about 3 years now and use it almost every day to make smoothies using frozen fruit. It still blasts right through stuff and make a smooth smoothie in about 20 seconds. Really good for blending sauces, shakes and mixed drinks as well. Makes a nice instant coffee drink. One of our most used and best purchases for the kitchen along with our Victorinox knives.
