I'm With Stupid, IWS#252 Results

Friends, a small and intimate gathering here, but we have the forum's fourth favorite game back on track, perhaps. Let's see how we did...

1. Quarterback is the fun and obvious position, right? Who will be the first QB selected in the draft, and to what franchise? (Two part answer please)

I was happy to see a reasonable spread behind the semi-eliminator...

6 Carolina - Pickett
3 Detroit - Willis
Houston Willis
Pittsburgh Howell
Carolina Willis
Carolina 6 (misread)

2. So… I’m also interested in the depth at the QB position, where teams might want to “take a stab.” With what pick will we see the 3rd QB selected this year?

I felt like 32 is/was the real world answer here, and I think I would have submitted it... and done okay with that...

3 - 20th
2 - 32nd
2 - 50th
4

24
25
30
40

3. Wide receiver is also fun…and this year we have a pretty varied class. How many receivers go in round one?

7 - 5 WRs
3 - 4 WRs
2 - 6 WRs
1 - 7 WRs

4. “Running backs don’t matter” is emerging as dogma, so we may have to wait a while until we see one come off the board… with what pick will we see the first RB selected?

round numbers seemingly in the right ballpark win again...

5 - 50th
2 - 40th

30
33
43
55
60

5. Georgia’s defense was crazy last season, and it’s showing in the draft this year…how many picks will it take for FIVE former Dawgs defenders to make it to the podium?

round numbers seemingly in the right ballpark win again...

6 - 50th
2 - 32nd

6. Punter Matt Araiza is a legend of video journals, and maybe the most productive punter in college football memory. Punter is also a position that doesn’t usually command major draft capital. What number pick will be used on him in this draft?

round numbers seemingly in the right ballpark win again...

5 - 100th
2 - 200th
2 - 147th (Chargers pick maybe?)
64
75
151

Glad to see me putting 30 for Q2, idiotically considering a 30-team NFL league, didn't hurt me, though

Meant to participate but never got around to it. I'm loving that someone submitted 4 picks for the 5th Georgia player to be off the board and that we somehow got two different people to submit the 147th pick for the punter.

3rd place, not too shabby. Interesting that I wasn't eliminated on the number of wide receivers question despite being wrong on it, but I did lose this contest on the Georgia defenders question, picking the wrong round number (40 over 50, d'oh).

I don't know why I thought that 33 was a smart answer for the running back. I think it was that one would go in the second round, and that was the first pick of the round so . . .

But the round number made so much more sense.

Either way, good to be back.

Poli, I have some bad news. I paid off Quik to discard your results. I knew you were a ringer and I wasn't having any of it. I had to erase you. I'm sorry

I misunderstood question 1, which would have placed me second. Oh well, I wouldn't have won anyhow.
