1. In case anyone is interested, I came across the following game, which is currently accepting applicants for what it calls essentially a beta testing league (second link):

"Total control" sounds suspiciously like I'll have to do everything myself -- design all plays, depth charts, situational subs, etc. I get that AI is one of the harder and least appreciated parts to code, but this is a bit of a red flag for me.
