I thought for a moment you were gonna be right buuuuut ...

12/21/1990, Pacers 137-114 over ... the Charlotte Hornets
Person went for 34, Vern Fleming for 26 (9/9 FG, 8/8 FT)
Pacers were just 3/9 from 3P range, Hornets 0/5

But then I scrolled, and discovered you WERE right after all

A few months later, 3/7/91 they won 145-125 ... over the Nuggets
33 for Reggie, 31 each for Fleming & Smits (Person DNP)

I think I lost my other post. It was the most points on opening night by any team since 1990. I looked it up, and this is a surprise, but the Golden State Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets on the opening night in 1990. The score was 162 to 158, backed by Run TMC going for 99

Anyone watch the Pacers-Sixers last night? What a bizarre rule where three minutes after a foul occurred, free throws were shot(wrong shooter), and play continues they went back and allowed a different shooter to shoot those free throws.

I haven't look very deeply into this but it sounds like one thing that might save him is Oklahoma has softer laws than the DR when it comes to age of consent and statutory rape.

It is probably not a good sign when I typed "age of consent Oklahoma" into Google it finished with Giddey. According to that search, The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16 as opposed to 18 in the DR. The state does provide two exceptions to the age of consent which DR does not. First, there is a marriage exception. Second is a Romeo and Juliet exception. Both parties must be older than 14 but younger than 18. Josh Giddey is 21.

Is it possible he has already had a shotgun wedding?

Mark Cuban just sold the majority ownership to the Mavericks for 3.5 billion dollars. He is still going to have a large stake and control of the team. Nice return on his $285 million dollar investment.

He also announced this is his last season of Shark Tank. It makes you wonder what he has planned.

It is not that uncommon to have managing owner that is not the majority stake-holder. He could obviously be fired without controlling interest, but he would act as the day to day managing owner of the club.

Oh. That makes sense. Own the team but let Cuban run it.

FWIW, if I ever spend $3.5 billion on a team, I'm going to run it.

It's like buying a Porsche and hiring someone to drive it for you.

It does when you are a casino conglomerate that is trying to use the team as leverage to build a casino in Dallas/Fort Worth. This about much more than one NBA team.
