Old Sports Sim EXE's

I was thinking about starting a project for collecting old sports sims and having an aggregate place to download them.

I was backing up some of my old game discs and realized a lot of the older sports sims I had weren't on CDs and Lord knows if I know where the old EXE's are to install them. Nevermind sorting through my old emails with the right keywords to find the keys.

Then I saw some of the older, bigger producer ones on abandonware sites (think some old FMs, NFL Head Coach, FIFA Manager). But I couldn't easily find some of the older games that many of us played but arent likely to be big enough to take up space on their servers... games like FBB, fof2, Coaching a Dynasty... and so many other that are probably talked about in the archives I don't even remember.

So I'm starting a project, Google Drive at first, where I just collect old EXEs and installs for sports sims. I'm not looking for keys, you'll need to sort that out, but just an archive where we can go to find games we maybe loved that we might want to play again. I may reach out to developers when possible to see if they mind if we share keys for games they don't develop, but I think it's important for archival purposes

So I'm putting out a call, if you have some old games you think the world would want to play, just throw out the names of some old games you may have below and we can start working on this.

for really old stuff (like the 3dboxing games, etcetera), find a reliable abandonware site. (if there is such a thing)

I still want someone to recreate Crush Deluxe for modern machines.

I wish someone still had the commissioner version of Andy Dolphin's old sims.

That's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. I was in high school just replaying demo seasons of the football sim because I didn't have a way to buy those games. I still have an old install for WoSoMan soccer that when I install, lists my dad's old infoave email address.

Like I'd love to find an old install of the original FBCB because I have a key but no installer... or Tournament Dreams... Or even old FOFs, even if I can't install them because I don't have keys.

That's the first game I thought of when I opened this thread also. I have that game in an email from Dan Ryazansky, and every new laptop I've had the past ten years or so I try to download it, but I get a virus message every time (even though that's how I loaded it originally way back when). I played the hell out of that game.

I've kept a lot of old files archived on CDs/DVDs. I'll have a look over over the weekend to see what I can find.

I have the FBCB installer and one that patches to version 2.47 the final patch. PM me when you want them.

The more the merrier. Hoping to add a few more this weekend, but here's the tiny url link to the shared drive.

Sports Sims - Google Drive

Figured using sports digs in the shortened URL would let you know the tiny link is real.

If you have anything, just PM and I'll share a link you can upload to.

This is a fantastic idea. Thank you for doing this. There are so many games that might be lost to time because they were digital only. I am thinking the old 400 studios games and I know there are others. Something that has irked me is games that I bought legitimately that no longer work because the servers that can authenticate the key are no longer online. FOF 2 and older versions of OOTP are prime examples of this.

I will PM you any old files I can find.

The other one that I can't find is a game from a developer that used to post here: Mac Howard.

I am not a soccer fan, but his game Sick as a Parrot was apparently revolutionary in how it utilized ratingsless gameplay. I would be interested in playing it, but I can't find it anywhere.

Oh the classic debates we had on his game. I miss that.

Unfortunately not the old commissioner versions that you could use the run your own email leagues. That's what I'd love to have again. It's because he started his own email leagues and the ones that we had were competing against them (and mine was way better than his, frankly).

OK I have uploaded most of this list. I wrote down all of the file locations on another laptop and I don't have it here right now so I had to rely on my (fading) memory.

Organized the list and updated the Google drive.

Currently a little over 50 games are uploaded and at least confirmed to install on relatively modern systems.

It's not always perfect and some of the older ones require keys that are generated based on certain parameters (CAD, FBB...) so it may not be possible to fully play them.

Others require keys and I haven't posted them. It's a gray area given they aren't sold and supported, but I'm sure you can find keys or no CD patches for most of them if needed.

When possible I've saved them in zips with their most recent patches. Some games are exe, some iso, some mds/mdf and can be mounted using wincdemu.

There's still plenty more to track down, so if you have anything to share let me know.

Also experimenting with uploading to the Internet Archive software section as my storage space is finite.
