That will suck if we do go to different leagues!

I'm the only non-member of the Alabama delegation in our new branch.

I did serve on the USS Alabama, so I guess that's close enough.

I was reminded of this conversation from another thread tonight by a story about a couple of Ukrainian athletes. Figured this might be worth tucking away:

Yaroslava Mahuchikh sets women's high jump world record - ESPN

Totally spaced it started yesterday. That was my first forfeit in 16 seasons of play.

Bad money choices in R1. Wasn't confident on RIO (knew it was the song, wasn't sure that was the album name), thought HEISMAN was a gimme (it wasn't). Went with FIGHT CLUB over SIXTH SENSE (had added a study card for Cotard's even, and didn't dredge the info up right in time). 8/12, could have been 10/12 but for two koin flips. At least I moneyed DELACROIX though.

Currently in 334th, could have been somewhere in the 40s with ideal moneying. I think I did well enough in R2 to stay above the cut line, but we'll see. I was in 683rd last year -- 109 points below the cut -- and managed it, so being 31 points over it this time is at least a better place to be. R1 seemed to play pretty easy though.

Probably my high water mark (Round 3 will be weak), but very happy with T124 after Round 2.

Sometimes you have to RYFA! My phone autocorrected Neuromancer to Necromancer. Luckily my opponent gave me a 0 So we tied 9(5)-9(6)

Gonna go down to the wire to see if I relegate from C to D. My total point differential is positive, but I have a ton of 1 point losses. Above water on tiebreakers as of this morning.

I’m perpetually around the relegation line myself, for multiple seasons. Today’s update has me 6-13-5 and in 23rd of 28. Nail biting ahead.

Honestly I still enjoy the questions and will keep playing, this rut leaves me with no real joy for the competition/standings, and I lack the fortitude of Mr C to step up and work to get better at this.

Alas.

Same here, I think I'm dropping from D to E. What's worse, I lost in humiliating fashion, 9(6) to 0(1). My opponent was the person in last place. It's hard not to suspect their 9(6) was due to cheating, based on their previous results. But a win wouldn't have got them out of the relegation zone, so I'm not sure what to think. I guess it's either a) They just got weirdly lucky, b) they are leaving and wanted to go out with a bang, or c) they live in the same suburb as me, and not a huge one, just 50K people -- I don't recognize the name, but maybe they know me and wanted to make sure I dropped too (if so, joke's on them with my 0(1) score)?
